Drammen HK
Drammen HK is a team handball club from Drammen, Norway. Currently, Drammen HK competes in the Norwegian First League of Handball. The club was founded on March 3, 1992. The foundation was the result of a long going project where handball clubs in Drammen and Lier gathered to discuss how to build a "Top Team" candidate for the region. The project resulted in two clubs joining forces - Reistad IL from Lier and IF Sturla from Drammen. The two clubs transferred their senior players to the new club, but continued as separate entities concentrating on development of children and youngsters. The colors of Drammen HK became blue - the same color as background of the city coat of arms. Reistad IL was qualified to play in Norway Premier Division, so Drammen really got a flying start starting at the top level. Drammenshallen
Drammenshallen is an indoor arena located in Drammen, Norway. It opened in 1978 and is primarily used for handball, and to a lesser extent, track and field, trade shows, exhibitions, and in the past major concerts. Drammen HK and Glassverket IF is currently the main tenant at the facility. The capacity is approximately 4,000 or 6,000 for concerts. History The hall was known for large concerts in the 1980s. Some of the notable artists to have performed at the venue include Duran Duran, Kiss, Elton John, Jethro Tull, Eric Clapton, Iron Maiden, Paul Simon, Thin Lizzy, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Tina Turner, Bob Dylan and Queen. Kristian Cato Walby Kjelling (; born 8 September 1980) is a retired Norwegian handball player, who last played for the Norwegian club Drammen HK. He is now their coach. Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. Drammen () is a city and municipality in Viken (county), Viken, Norway. The port and river city of Drammen is centrally located in the south-eastern and most populated part of Norway. GRUNDIGligaen
REMA 1000-ligaen is the premier professional men's handball league in Norway. It was established in 1966, and it is currently contested by twelve teams. Sandefjord TIF is the championship's most successful team with nine titles, followed by Oppsal IF with six. Elverum Håndball is the most successful in the Playoffs, with 11 titles. Lier, Norway
Lier is a municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Lierbyen. Glenn Solberg (born 18 February 1972) is a Norwegian handball coach and former player. Solberg was born in Drammen. His clubs included Drammen HK, FC Barcelona Handbol and SG Flensburg-Handewitt.
