Drake Performance And Event Center
The Drake Performance and Event Center is located at Ohio State University. It was a student activity center named Drake Union. The center is located on the west campus of Ohio State between Morrill Tower and Lincoln Tower off the east banks of the Olentangy River. Background With the construction of residence halls on west campus, Ohio State students living there found the walking distance to travel to the Ohio Union long, especially in the winter. Todd Tibbals
Todd Tibbals (1910March 22, 1988) was an American architect who was active in the Columbus, Ohio area in the middle part of the twentieth century. Early years Tibbals was born in 1910 to a successful engineer and entrepreneur, Charles E. Tibbals (1872–1961). His father was a professional mining engineer and manager of the Royal Elkhorn Coal Company of Prestonsburg, Kentucky. In 1923 the family moved to Columbus where Tibbals' father pioneered in the candy vending business. Education Tibbals attended the Ohio State University, where he was a hard working student. When assigned a task to draw part of a house, Tibbals would draw the entire house and notate the drawing with ''Tibbals Does It Again''. The Towers (Ohio State)
Abraham Lincoln Tower & Justin S. Morrill Tower, also known as The Towers, Morrill Tower or Lincoln Tower are two undergraduate residential houses at The Ohio State University. The Towers are located on the west campus of the Ohio State University across from the Drake Union off the east banks of the Olentangy River. Morrill Tower is to the right of Ohio Stadium on Cannon Drive. The towers are in close proximity of OSU's RPAC (Recreation and Physical Activity Center) and the Wexner Medical Center. Olentangy River
The Olentangy River is a tributary of the Scioto River in Ohio, United States. History It was originally called ''keenhongsheconsepung'', a Delaware word literally translated as "sharp tool river", based on the shale found along its shores. Early settlers to the region translated this into "Whetstone River". The Ohio Union serves as a student activity center for students of The Ohio State University. When the Union was established in 1910, it was the first student union at a public university.
