''Dragons' Den'' is a Canadian television reality show based on the internationally franchised ''Dragons' Den'' format which began in Japan. The show debuted on October 3, 2006, on CBC Television, and is hosted by Dianne Buckner. Aspiring Canadian entrepreneurs pitch business and investment ideas to a panel of venture capitalists (termed "Dragons") in the hope of securing business financing and partnerships. The show also has a Quebec-only spin-off called ''Dans l'oeil du Dragon'' (literally 'in the Dragon's eye'). As of October 27, 2022, 272 episodes of ''Dragons' Den'' have aired. Laurence Lewin
Laurence Lewin (20 May 1944 – 12 November 2008) was an English-born Canadian accountant, computer programmer and entrepreneur, who was one of the co-founders of lingerie firm La Senza. Lewin was working at clothing retailer Suzy Shier, in 1990, when he co-founded La Senza, a lingerie firm that was eventually licensed to 700 retail outlets around the world.
