Dowling, Ontario
Onaping Falls (1996 census population 5,277) was a town in the Canadian province of Ontario, which existed from 1973 to 2000. It was created as part of the Regional Municipality of Sudbury, and took its name from the waterfalls (High Falls) on the Onaping River. On January 1, 2001, the town and the Regional Municipality were dissolved and amalgamated into the city of Greater Sudbury. The town is now part of Ward 3 on Greater Sudbury City Council, and is represented by councillor Gerry Montpellier. In the Canada 2011 Census, the main communities in Onaping Falls were listed for the first time as two of six distinct ''population centres'' (or urban areas) in Greater Sudbury: Dowling (population 1,690, density 475.0 km2) and Onaping-Levack (population 2,042, density 251.3 km2).

Dowling, Michigan
Dowling is a census-designated place (CDP) in Baltimore Township in Barry County, Michigan, United States. The population was 374 at the 2010 census. History The settlement was informally named "Baltimore" as early as 1842 in memory of the home of prominent settlers. A post office named Baltimore was established in May 1850. The name was changed to Dowling in March 1880. Geography Dowling is located southeast of the center of Barry County. The center of town is located at the intersection of state highway M-37 and East Dowling Road. M-37 leads north to Hastings, the Barry County seat, and south to downtown Battle Creek. The Baltimore Township office is located east of the center of Dowling. The southern edge of the CDP is the border with Johnstown Township. Dowling College was a private college on Long Island, New York. It was established in 1968 and had its main campus located in Oakdale, New York on the site of William K. Vanderbilt's mansion Idle Hour. Dowling also included a campus in Shirley, which contained the college's aviation program and athletic complexes, and small campuses in Melville and Manhattan. Dowling was composed of four schools: the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Education, the Townsend School of Business, and the School of Aviation. Largely enrolling local Long Island students, the college offered a variety of bachelor's degree programs in the arts, sciences, and business, master's degree programs in education and business, and a doctorate in education.
