Jeffrey Douma
Jeffrey Douma is the Director of the Yale Glee Club and the Marshall Bartholomew Professor in the Practice of Choral Music at the Yale School of Music. He is the founding Director of the Yale Choral Artists and serves as Artistic Director of the Yale International Choral Festival. Education Jeffrey Douma earned a Bachelor of Music Degree from Concordia College, Moorhead. He holds both Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Conducting from the University of Michigan. Career Prior to his appointment at Yale in 2003, he taught at Carroll University, where he was Director of Choral Activities, and also served on the conducting faculties of Smith College and St. Cloud State University. Douma Chemical Attack
On 7 April 2018, a chemical warfare attack was carried out by forces of the government of Bashar al-Assad in the Syrian city of Douma. Medics and witnesses reported that it caused the deaths of between 40 and 50 people and injuries to possibly well over 100. The attack was attributed to the Syrian Army by rebel forces in Douma, and by the United States, British, and French governments. On 14 April 2018, the United States, France and the United Kingdom carried out a series of military strikes against multiple government sites in Syria. On 6 July 2018, an interim report was issued by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). Various chlorinated organic chemicals (dichloroacetic acid, trichloroacetic acid, chlorophenol, dichlorophenol, bornyl chloride, chloral hydrate etc.) were found in samples, along with residues of explosive, but the designated laboratory 03 stated that no CWC-scheduled chemicals or nerve agent–related chemicals were detected. ...

Duma
A duma (russian: дума) is a Russian assembly with advisory or legislative functions. The term ''boyar duma'' is used to refer to advisory councils in Russia from the 10th to 17th centuries. Starting in the 18th century, city dumas were formed across Russia. The first formally constituted state duma was the Imperial State Duma introduced to the Russian Empire by Emperor Nicholas II in 1905. The Emperor retained an absolute veto and could dismiss the State Duma at any time for a suitable reason. Nicholas dismissed the First State Duma (1906) within 75 days; elections for a second Duma took place the following year. Sytse Wybren Douma (born 1942) is a Dutch organizational theorist, consultant and Emeritus Professor at the Tilburg School of Economics and Management of the Tilburg University, known for his work with Hein Schreuder on "Economic approaches to organizations". Felix Johan Douma (August 6, 1941 – January 23, 2008) was a Canadian scholar, writer, teacher, cellist, and translator who once served as Canada's Third Secretary and Vice-Consul to the Dominican Republic. Biography Douma was born in Heerenveen, Friesland, Netherlands, to Sjoeke Tjerk (George) and Johanna (née Wijnja) Douma. After World War II, at the age of 12, Douma immigrated with his parents and two younger brothers, Alex and Ed, to Otterville, Ontario, Canada where he became a Canadian citizen. Douma, Lebanon
Douma ( ar, دوما, Dūmā) is a village in Lebanon located 80 km from Beirut, 30 km from Byblos and 45 km from Tripoli. Douma is administratively part of Batroun District and is known for its location in a valley surrounded by mountains. It stands at an altitude of 1070 m. Almost all of its houses are covered in red tiles. It has a temperate climate and an abundance of vineyards and olive and apple groves. History Douma was populated since ancient times. In the town square sits a sarcophagus, bearing a Greek inscription recording that this was the burial place of Castor, who died in 317 AD. The village was almost abandoned until the 16th century, during Ottoman rule, when the modern village was founded by the Greek Orthodox Christian clan of the Chalhoub.
