Douglas Saunders
Douglas Anthony Clive Saunders (born 15 February 1949 in Kingston, Jamaica) is a Jamaican diplomat. Biography Ambassador the Honourable Douglas Saunders OJ CD is the Cabinet Secretary of the Jamaican Prime Minister's cabinet. Saunders is the third officer to take over the reins of this distinguished position as head of central government and has held this post from June 2008. He was born in Westmoreland, in rural Jamaica on 15 February 1949 and graduated from Jamaica College in 1967. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies at the University of the West Indies in 1972 before obtaining a Certificate of Diplomacy from Oxford University in 1975. He is also Pope Paul VI Scholar of St. John's University in New York where he obtained a master's degree in Government and Politics, majoring in International Relations in 1981. Kingston is the capital and largest city of Jamaica, located on the southeastern coast of the island. It faces a natural harbour protected by the Palisadoes, a long sand spit which connects the town of Port Royal and the Norman Manley International Airport to the rest of the island. Jamaica
Jamaica (; ) is an island country situated in the Caribbean Sea. Spanning in area, it is the third-largest island of the Greater Antilles and the Caribbean (after Cuba and Hispaniola). Jamaica lies about south of Cuba, and west of Hispaniola (the island containing the countries of Haiti and the Dominican Republic); the British Overseas Territory of the Cayman Islands lies some to the north-west.
