Doug Pottinger (born September 18, 1973) is a Canadian-American curler from Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He is originally from Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. At the national level, he is a 2004 United States men's curling champion. Todd Birr
Todd Birr (born April 20, 1968) is an American curler. He was a bronze medalist at the 2007 World Men's Curling Championship. Career Birr skipped his team to victory at the 2007 United States Curling Men's Championships, beating out teams such as Olympic bronze medalist Pete Fenson and former national champion Jason Larway in the process. He had relative success in prior nationals finishing fourth in 2006 and as a semi-finalist in 2004. His victory qualified his team of Bill Todhunter, Greg Johnson and Kevin Birr to a berth at the 2007 Ford World Men's Curling Championship representing team USA. There, Birr's was the only team to defeat Glenn Howard's Canadian team in the round robin when Howard wrecked on his last rock, and Birr bumped out a Canadian stone to score three giving him a victory. The 2005 United States Olympic Curling Trials were held from February 19 to 26 in McFarland, Wisconsin. The trials determined which teams would represent the United States at the 2006 Winter Olympics. John Inglis Drever "Don" Pottinger (1919–1986) was a Scottish officer of arms, artist, illustrator and author. He is remembered for the publication, with Sir Iain Moncreiffe, of ''Simple Heraldry, Cheerfully Illustrated'' (1953). Early life Pottinger was born at Carnoustie, Angus in 1919. He was the second son of Reverend William Pottinger, and younger brother of William George Pottinger, known as George. He himself was known as Don from childhood because he was unable to pronounce his given name properly. He was educated at the High School of Dundee and received a scholarship to the Edinburgh College of Art in 1937. His plans were interrupted by the outbreak of World War II in 1939. He served in the British Army throughout North Africa and Italy and ended his service in Palestine in 1946. During the war, he took time off to marry Fay Keeling. Jason Larway (born March 23, 1970) is an American curler from Lynnwood, Washington. He is a and a four-times United States men's curling champion (1989, 1992, 2001, 2004). In addition to representing the United States at the , winning the National Championship in 2001 should have qualified Larway to compete at the 2001 United States Olympic Curling Trials but the entire team was deemed ineligible because, as a Canadian living in the United States, teammate Greg Romaniuk was eligible for the National Championship but not for the Olympics. Larway instead attempted to earn a spot at the Trials through the National Olympic Qualifier, which he gained entry to through the Washington State Regional Qualifier. Pete Fenson
Peter Fenson (born February 29, 1968 in Bemidji, Minnesota) is an American curler. He was the skip of the men's rink that represented the United States at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where they won the bronze medal, the first Olympic medal for the United States in curling. He has won eight national championships, the most recent in Philadelphia in March 2014, and six as skip. Career Fenson took up curling at age 13; his father, Bob Fenson, won the 1979 national championships and is now the coach of Pete's rink. Pete Fenson was a third on the national champion rinks in 1993 and 1994, and his rink, skipped by Scott Baird, made it to the semifinals of the 1993 World Curling Championship and placed fifth in 1994.
