Doug Miller (soccer)
Doug Miller (born May 5, 1969) is an American youth soccer coach and retired soccer player. He spent one season in Major Indoor Soccer League and nine in the National Professional Soccer League as a forward, winning two championships and leading the league in scoring in 1998–99. Miller also played ten seasons of outdoor soccer in the USISL and A-League. He was the 1996 and 1997 USISL A-League leading scorer and 1997 league MVP. He also won one U.S. Open Cup. In 2011, he became the first player signed to the new Rochester Lancers indoor team and was named the first team captain in the club's history. Youth and college Miller was born in the Succasunna section of Roxbury Township, New Jersey. He began playing soccer at the Roxbury Recreation Soccer League when he was five, graduating to the Roxbury Travelling Team when he turned eight. Roxbury is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 23,324, reflecting a decline of 559 (−2.3%) from the 23,883 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 3,454 (+16.9%) from the 20,429 counted in the 1990 Census. The Baltimore Blast is an American professional indoor soccer team based in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The team is a part of the Major Arena Soccer League. The team has won 10 championships since it was founded in 1980. Beginning with the 2017-2018 season, home games have been played at Towson University's SECU Arena. Rochester Ravens
The Rochester Ravens were an American women's soccer team which played from 2009 to 2013. The team was a member of the United Soccer Leagues W-League, the second tier of women's soccer in the United States and Canada. The team played in the Great Lakes Division of the Central Conference against teams from Hamilton, Laval, London, Ottawa, Quebec City and Toronto. The team played its home games at Wegmans Stadium at the Aquinas Institute of Rochester in the city of Rochester, New York and they also played home games at the Capelli Sport Stadium. USL W-League (1995–2015)
The USL W-League was a North American amateur women's soccer developmental organization. The league was a semi-professional, open league, giving college players the opportunity to play alongside established international players while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. The league was administered by the United Soccer Leagues system (the USL), which also oversees the men's United Soccer League and Premier Development League. The W-League announced on November 6, 2015 that the league will cease operation ahead of 2016 season.
