Doug McGuigan
Douglas Gordon McGuigan (born 7 August 1970) is a Scottish-South African professional golfer. He has won eight times on the Sunshine Tour between 2003 and 2017. McGuigan was born in Durban, and currently resides in Johannesburg. After winning three West Coast Tour events as an amateur, he turned professional in 1989. He first played on the Sunshine Tour in 1993. He has also played on the Canadian Tour. 2009 Sunshine Tour
The 2009 Sunshine Tour was the tenth season of professional golf tournaments since the southern Africa based Sunshine Tour was relaunched in 2000, and the third since the tour switched a calendar based season in 2007. The Sunshine Tour represents the highest level of competition for male professional golfers in the region. The tour was based predominantly in South Africa, with 26 of the 30 tournaments being held in the country. Two events were held in Swaziland, with one each in Zambia and Namibia. As usual, the tour consisted of two distinct parts, commonly referred to as the "Summer Swing" and "Winter Swing". Tournaments held during the Summer Swing generally had much higher prize funds, attracted stronger fields, and were the only tournaments on the tour to carry world ranking points, with three events being co-sanctioned with the European Tour. 2002–03 Sunshine Tour
The 2002–03 Sunshine Tour was the third season of professional golf tournaments since the southern Africa based Sunshine Tour was rebranded in 2000. The Sunshine Tour represents the highest level of competition for male professional golfers in the region. There were 15 official events on the schedule. This was an decrease of eight from the previous year, and represents the fewest in the 15 seasons that Sunshine Tour has existed. There were eight tournaments from the previous season that were eliminated: the Goldfields Powerade Classic, the Bloemfontein Classic, the Randfontein Classic, the Atlantic Beach Classic, the Western Cape Classic, the Graceland Challenge, Cock o' the North (golf), Cock of the North (Zambia), and the CABS/Old Mutual Zimbabwe Open (which resumed in 2010). Hennie Du Plessis
Hennie du Plessis (born 14 October 1996) is a South African professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour, Sunshine Tour and he also plays on the LIV Golf Invitational Series. Professional career Du Plessis turned professional in 2015 and joined the Sunshine Tour after finishing number one at Q-School. In 2016 he recorded five top-5 finishes, including a tie for second at Vodacom Origins of Golf at Wild Coast Sun, behind Madalitso Muthiya. On the 2017–18 Sunshine Tour he won the Vodacom Origins of Golf at Sishen, clinching his maiden Sunshine Tour title on his 21st birthday. Brandon Stone
Brandon Stone (born 20 April 1993) is a South African professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and Sunshine Tour. He represented South Africa at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Amateur career Stone won several amateur tournaments in South Africa and played on the 2012 South Africa Eisenhower Trophy team. He played one year of college golf at the University of Texas, winning three events, before turning professional in 2013. Victor Jean Hugo (born 3 December 1975) is a South African professional golfer. Golf career Hugo matriculated at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1994. Three years later he graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from University of Stellenbosch. He is the youngest son of organic chemist Professor Victor Hugo and Esme Hugo who were both active in sport and sport administration. KCM Zambia Open
The Zambia Open is a men's professional golf tournament played in Zambia, that has been part of the Sunshine Tour since 1996, and was co-sanctioned by the European-based Challenge Tour from 2001 to 2004. It was also an event on the Challenge Tour between 1991 and 1993, having previously part of the now defunct Safari Circuit. History Lusaka Golf Club has traditionally hosted the Zambia Open, but in 2005 a disagreement with the then sponsors, Stanbic, resulted in the cancellation of the tournament, with a new venue being found for the following year.
