''Double Up'' is the second studio album by Harlem rapper Mase, released in 1999 and distributed by Bad Boy Records. The album sold 350,000 copies in its first week, debuting at #1 and was certified Gold by the RIAA exactly one month after its release on July 15, 1999. Shortly after the release, Mase briefly retired from rapping to become a Christian pastor. Mason Durell Betha (born August 27, 1975), better known by his mononym Mase (formerly Murda Mase and stylized as Ma$e), is an American rapper and minister. In the late 1990s, he recorded on the Bad Boy Records label alongside its founder Sean "Diddy" Combs to significant mainstream success. Lee Oskar (born 24 March 1948) is a Danish harmonica player, notable for his contributions to the sound of the rock-funk fusion group War, which was formed by Howard E. Scott and Harold Brown, his solo work, and as a harmonica manufacturer. He continues to play with 3 other original War band members, Harold Brown, Howard Scott and B.B. Harlem World was an American hip hop group founded by Mase that was signed to Jermaine Dupri's So So Def. The group consisted of seven members: Mase's sister Baby Stase (Stason Betha), Blinky Blink, Cardan, Huddy (Andre Hudson), Meeno, Suga J, and a then unknown Loon. They released their first and only album, ''The Movement'' on March 9, 1999, which would make it to #11 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and be certified gold the following month.
