Dotan Harpenau (born 26 October 1986), better known by his stage name Dotan, is a Dutch-Israeli singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. Biography Personal life Dotan was born in Jerusalem and moved to Amsterdam at the age of one. 2014–2015: ''7 Layers'' On 31 January 2014, Dotan released his self-produced studio album ''7 Layers'' at Paradiso, Amsterdam. The album quickly reached number 2 on the Dutch Top 100 Charts according to Dutch news website NU.nl. The first single, "Fall", was released on 17 January 2014. The second single from the album is called "Home"'. "Home" was nominated SuperCrazyTurboTopHit, 3FM Megahit, and Alarmschijf on Dutch Radio. After several weeks at number one in the Dutch iTunes top 100, "Home" entered the Dutch MegaTop50 at number 1 and remained there for 4 weeks. "Home" also became number 1 in Belgium on 22 August. Amira Dotan
Amira Dotan ( he, עמירה דותן, born 28 July 1947) is an Israeli military figure and a former member of Knesset for Kadima. Biography Dotan served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from 1965 to 1988, ending her career as the Head of the Women's Affairs advisor, Women's Corps, with the rank of Brigadier General. Attaining it in 1986, she became the first woman in the history of the IDF to hold this rank. She also completed a B.A. in Behavioral Science and an M.A. in Psychology from the Ben Gurion University of the Negev. Upon completing her military service, she served as Vice President of that University, as well as on the Board of Directors of Israel Military Industries and at the Jewish Agency. For the 2006 Israeli legislative election, 2006 elections in Israel, Dotan joined the Kadima party in the 28th position on their list of potential Knesset members. Shimon Dotan ( he, שמעון דותן; born 23 December 1949) is an Israeli film director, screenwriter, and producer. Biography Early life Shimon Dotan was born in Romania in 1949 and moved to Israel in 1959. He grew up in Moshav Arugot, an agricultural cooperative. He then served five years in the Israeli military as a Navy Seal and went on to get his BFA at Tel Aviv University, where his student films won Israel’s Best Short Film and Best Director Awards twice.
