Dormaa Municipal District
Dormaa Central Municipal District is one of the twelve districts in Bono Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Dormaa District on 10 March 1989; until the eastern part of the district was split off to create Dormaa East District on 1 November 2007 (effectively 29 February 2008); thus the remaining part has been retained as Dormaa District. However, on 28 Juan 2012, the southwest part of the district was split off to create Dormaa West District; while the remaining part was elevated to municipal district assembly status on that same year to become Dormaa Central Municipal District. Aduana Football Club is a professional football club, based in Dormaa Ahenkro, Bono Region, Ghana. The club is competing in the Ghanaian Premier League. It made history by winning the Ghana Premier League at their first attempt with 53 points. It became the ninth club to win the Ghana Premier League in its 54-year-old history. Bono Region
The Bono region is one of the 16 administrative regions of Ghana. It is as a result of the remainder of Brong-Ahafo region when Bono East region and Ahafo region were created. Dormaa District is a former district that was located in Brong-Ahafo Region (now currently in Bono Region), Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly on 10 March 1989. However, on 1 November 2007 (effective 29 February 2008), it was split off into two new districts by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor: Dormaa Central District (which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 28 June 2012; capital: Dormaa Ahenkro) and Dormaa East District (capital: Wamfie).
