Queen Mother Dorji Wangmo (Dzongkha: རྡོ་རྗེ་དབང་མོ་དབང་ཕྱུག་; Wylie: ''Rdo-rje Dbang-mo Dbang-phyug'') (born 10 June 1955, second daughter of ''Yab Dasho'' Ugyen Dorji and ''Yum'' Thuji Zam) is the Queen Mother (Gyalyum Kude, literally meaning "Queen Mother") of Bhutan, and first wife of former King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, who is married to four sisters all of whom were entitled to be called queen. Biography Her father, ''Yab Dasho'' Ugyen Dorji (1925–2019), was the Founder and Proprietor of Ugyen Academy (03/04/2002). Her mother is ''Yum'' Thuiji Zam (b. 1932). ''Ashi'' Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck is the first wife of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Fourth King of Bhutan. She was educated at St. Helen's School, Kurseong, India. Ugyen Academy (UA) is a private school and it is located in Punakha, Bhutan, for classes VII-XII. History Ugyen Academy opened on 3 April 2002 with 154 students. The school was founded by His Excellency ''Yab Dasho'' Ugyen Dorji (father of the four Queen Mothers Dorji Wangmo, Tshering Pem, Tshering Yangdon and Sangay Choden Wangchuck of Bhutan and the former prime minister, ''Lyonpo'' Sangay Ngedup). Jetsun Pema ( dz, རྗེ་བཙུན་པདྨ་; Wylie: rje btsun padma, born on 4 June 1990) is the Druk Gyaltsuen ( Dzongkha: Dragon Queen) of Bhutan, as the wife of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. She is currently the youngest queen consort in the world. She and the King have two children: Prince Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck, the heir apparent to the Bhutanese throne, and Jigme Ugyen Wangchuck. Early life and education Jetsun Pema was born at Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital in Thimphu on 4 June 1990. The Druk Gyaltsuen (lit. Dragon Queen) is the Queen consort of the Kingdom of Bhutan. In the Dzongkha language, Bhutan is known as ''Drukyul'' which translates as "The Land of the Thunder Dragon". Thus, while Queens of Bhutan are known as ''Druk Gyaltsuen'' ("Dragon Queen"), the Bhutanese people call themselves the ''Drukpa'', meaning "Dragon people". Folk Heritage Museum
The Folk Heritage Museum or Phelchey Toenkhyim is a museum in Thimphu, Thimphu District, Bhutan. History The museum was opened on 28 July 2001 from the initiative of founder queen mother ''Ashi'' Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck. Architecture The museum is housed in a 3-story 19th century traditional rammed mud and timber house aged more than 150 years. It includes paddy, wheat and millet fields, watermill, kitchen gardens, hot stone bath etc. The ground floor resembles barn, the upper floor resembles safe store and the top most floor resembles living and dining area. Sherubtse College
Sherubtse College is the first accredited college in Bhutan, founded in 1966 by a group of Jesuits under the leadership of Father William Mackey. The college was affiliated to the University of Delhi by a special act of the Indian parliament. It became a part of the newly created Royal University of Bhutan in 2003, a system that comprises all public post-secondary schools in Bhutan. Sherubtse College is located in Kanglung under Trashigang district in east Bhutan. The college campus is spread over a large area.
