Abbas Doran
Abbaas Dowraan ( fa, عباس دوران, October 22, 1950 in Shiraz – July 21, 1982 in Baghdad) was an acclaimed fighter pilot and is regarded as a national hero of Iran. General Doran piloted an F-4 Phantom II in the Imperial Iranian Air Force and the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force. He died in action during the Iran–Iraq War. Education Abbas Doran attended the Undergraduate Pilot Training Program at Columbus Air Force Base. He graduated in the autumn of 1972 as a member of Class 73-02. Career While serving in the Iranian Air Force, he participated in air strikes against the Iraqi Navy during Operation Morvarid in October 1980. He was valued for planning IRIAF operations missions against the Iraqi military with a high rate of success. Luke Doran
Luke Andrew Doran (born 14 August 1991 in Baulkham Hills, Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian cricketer who plays for the Sydney Sixers and the New South Wales Blues. He was a member of Australia's 2010 Under-19 Cricket World Cup squad which won the 2010 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. He has played in three List A matches for New South Wales, and 15 Big Bash games for the Sydney Sixers. Doran did not play in the 2015–16 Big Bash League season due to a side strain, although he was in the Sixers semi-final squad. Doran previously represented the Fairfield-Liverpool Lions, and now also represents Lindisfarne in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League; in the 2015 final, Doran was dismissed for 87 and infamously threw his bat at the match official. Anthony "Tony" Doran (born April 1946) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a full-forward for the Wexford senior team. Born in Boolavogue, County Wexford, Doran first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Wexford minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the senior panel during the 1964–65 National League. Doran went on to play a key part for the team over the next two decades, and won one All-Ireland medal, four Leinster medals and two National Hurling League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. As a member of the Leinster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, Doran won seven Railway Cup medals. Mildred Alice Doran (10 May 1905 – 16 August 1927) was a Canadian aviation enthusiast who was the only woman to enter the Dole Air Race in 1927, created to be the first to fly from California to Hawaii. During the race, she and several other competitors disappeared. Early life and education Doran was born in Ontario to a Canadian father, William Doran, a farmer, and American mother, Minnie Doran. She was raised in Flint, Michigan. Her mother, who was born in Michigan, died in about 1922 when she was 16. She raised her younger sister, Helen, and had brothers William and Floyd.
