Dor Bahadur Bista
Dor Bahadur Bista (born ca. 1924-1928) is a Nepalese anthropologist, social scientist and activist. Bista is considered the Father of Nepalese anthropology, and has published popular books such as '' Fatalism and Development'' and ''People of Nepal''. Bista mysteriously disappeared in 1995. Biography Education Sources vary regarding Bista's date of birth. According to some sources, he was born on 15 April 1928 while there have also been some speculations that he might have been born around 1924, or in 1926. He graduated from Patan High School, after which he attended Tri Chandra College. He completed his Certificate in Indian Ethnography in London. Career While working as a government headmaster in a girls' high school in Patan, Bista became a research assistant to Professor Christoph Furer-Haimendorf of London University who was conducting field research in the area of Solukhumbu. Lalitpur Metropolitan City, historically Patan ( sa, पाटन ''Pāṭana'', Nepal bhasa : '' Yela'', ), is the fourth most populous city of Nepal after Kathmandu, Pokhara and Bharatpur, and it is located in the south-central part of Kathmandu Valley, a new metropolitan city of Nepal. A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are unknown. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2–5% of missing children in Europe.
