Donkey Kong Barrel Blast
''Donkey Kong Barrel Blast'' is a 2007 Racing video game, racing game for Nintendo's Wii video game console. The game was shown at Electronic Entertainment Expo, E3 2006 convention in May for the GameCube under the title of ''DK: Bongo Blast'', but this version was ultimately cancelled in favor of a Wii release. It was released for the Wii in Japan and the United States in 2007, and in PAL regions in 2008 with the title ''Donkey Kong Jet Race''. The game was originally developed to be controlled using the DK Bongos for the GameCube. ''Barrel Blast'' was faced with generally negative reviews after its release, with critics criticizing the replaced bongo control scheme with that using the Wii Remote and Wii Nunchuck, Nunchuk, as well as the last-generation visuals. Paon DP
is a Japanese video game developer. The company was founded in August 2004 as DP Inc. and merged with Paon Corporation, Ltd. in March 2015 to form Paon DP. Paon Corporation was founded on January 20, 1999. Through a partnership with Nintendo, Paon developed '' DK: King of Swing'', ''Donkey Kong Barrel Blast'' and '' DK: Jungle Climber''. Paon was also involved in development of 2000 SNK's Neo Geo Pocket Color fighting game titles, ''SNK Gals' Fighters'' as composer and sound work team, as well as composer to some other Neo Geo Pocket Color titles. When the company Data East went bankrupt, Paon became composed of former Data East staff and bought the rights to some of their games, including ''Karnov'', '' Chelnov'', ''Windjammers'', and the '' Kuuga'' trilogy, all of which are now owned by Paon DP, and the ''Glory of Heracles'' series, which is partially owned by them. Diddy Kong
is a fictional character who appears in games belonging to the ''Donkey Kong'' and ''Mario'' video game franchises, debuting in the 1994 ''Donkey Kong'' series game, ''Donkey Kong Country''. Nintendo designer Kevin Bayliss commented Diddy Kong was "penciled in" as a spider monkey, although he is not specifically referenced as belonging to a particular species. He lives with Donkey Kong on Donkey Kong Island in the Kongo Jungle, and is identified by his red hat with the Nintendo logo, and his red shirt with stars. Diddy Kong is Donkey Kong's sidekick and best friend. Rare first referred to Diddy as DK's nephew in September 1999 on their website. This was followed in November 1999 where the manual for ''Donkey Kong 64'' called him "Donkey's little nephew wannabe". The official cast for the game in 2002 listed him as "DK's nephew" as well.
