Dondon Hontiveros
Donaldo "Dondon" Cabañes Hontiveros (born June 1, 1977) is a Filipino politician and former professional basketball player. He is a member of the Cebu City Council since June 30, 2022 and previously from 2019 to 2021. He was the Vice Mayor of Cebu City from November 2021 to June 2022, by virtue of succession due to the death of Mayor Edgardo Labella. He is also an assistant coach for the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), though he is on leave from the team due to his government duties. In basketball, Hontiveros has won three PBA championships and was a 13-time PBA All-Star. He started his career in his hometown of Cebu City, playing for the University of Cebu at the collegiate level and becoming professional with the Cebu Gems of the Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA). The Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters is a professional basketball team owned by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc., which debuted in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) in the 2016 Commissioner's Cup. The franchise began after the company acquired the second Barako Bull team in January 2016. The 2017 PBA All-Star Week was the annual all-star week of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA)'s 2016–17 season which was on April 26 to 30, 2017 on three different venues covering Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The all-star week kicked off in Cagayan de Oro (Mindanao) on April 26, then was held in Lucena (Luzon) together with the skills challenge on April 28, then capped off on April 30 in Cebu City. The PBA All-Star Game is an exhibition game hosted annually by the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), matching the league's star players using various formats. It is the featured event of PBA All-Star Weekend. The All-Star game was first staged at The ULTRA on June 4, 1989. 2013 PBA Commissioner's Cup
The 2013 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner's Cup was the second conference of the 2012–13 PBA season. The tournament began on February 8 and ended on May 19, 2013. The tournament is an import-laden format, which requires an import or a pure-foreign player for each team and with no height limit. From the semifinal round onwards, the tournament is sponsored by Cebuana Lhuillier. Format Due to the preparations of the Philippines men's national basketball team for the upcoming FIBA Asia Championship, the opening of Governors' Cup was moved on the second week of August, at the conclusion of the FIBA tournament.
