Donald Mackintosh (politician)
Donald Mackintosh (16 May 1840 – 5 May 1932) was a farmer and member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Early days Mackintosh was born in Lochaber, Scotland, to parents James Mackintosh and his wife Mary (née Macarthur) and was educated in the local Lochaber village school. On his arrival in Australia he was a drover and the manager of the Glencoe Farm near Warwick. Political career Having been a member of the Jondaryan Divisional Board, Mackintosh, for the Ministerialists, represented the seat of Cambooya in the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 1899 until the seat was abolished in 1912. Cambooya was a Legislative Assembly electorate in the state of Queensland, Australia. History Cambooya was created by the Electoral Districts Act of 1887, taking effect at the 1888 elections. Henry John Daniels
Henry John Daniels (8 March 1850 – 13 June 1934) was a selector and member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Early days Daniels was born in Bethnal Green, London, to parents Samuel Daniels and his wife Charlotte (née Hood). and was educated in London before he arrived in Australia in 1861. After working in the tin mines at Stanthorpe from 1872 - 1874 he selected property at the Clifton Homestead Region, Mt Kent, Darling Downs in 1877. After selecting a large grazing farm at Gindie, in 1895 he transferred his leases in 1904 and moved to Brisbane, where he lived the rest of his life. Political career Having been a member of the Queensland Shearers' Union, Daniels, for the Labour Party, represented the seat of Cambooya in the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 1893 until his defeat in 1899. Lochaber
Lochaber ( ; gd, Loch Abar) is a name applied to a part of the Scottish Highlands. Historically, it was a provincial lordship consisting of the parishes of Kilmallie and Kilmonivaig, as they were before being reduced in extent by the creation of ''Quoad Sacra'' parishes in the 19th century. Lochaber once extended from the Northern shore of Loch Leven, a district called Nether Lochaber, to beyond Spean Bridge and Roybridge, which area is known as Brae Lochaber or ''Braigh Loch Abar'' in Gaelic. Lochaber is now also used to refer to a much wider area, one of the 16 ward management areas of the Highland Council of Scotland and one of eight former local government districts of the two-tier Highland region. Drayton And Toowoomba Cemetery
Drayton and Toowoomba Cemetery is a heritage-listed cemetery at the corner of South Street and Anzac Avenue, Harristown, Queensland, Australia. It was surveyed in May 1850, and is one of the earliest surviving cemeteries in Queensland. The cemetery is large, containing over 45,000 burials. It has been run by the City of Toowoomba, and its successor the Toowoomba Regional Council, since 1974; previously it was run by government-appointed trustees. Many prominent people associated with the Darling Downs are buried in the cemetery, and all sections of the cemetery remain in use. Notable Toowoomba stonemasons R. C. The Legislative Assembly of Queensland is the sole chamber of the unicameral Parliament of Queensland established under the Constitution of Queensland. Elections are held every four years and are done by full preferential voting.
