Donald Chisholm (Race Car Driver)
Donald Chisholm (born April 14, 1976 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian professional racing driver. Chisholm currently drives the No. 89 Keltic Ford/Nova Construction Ford Fusion for NOVA Racing in the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour and part-time in NASCAR Pinty's Series driving the No. 89 NOVA Racing Ford Fusion. Racing career Maritime Pro Stock Tour In 2015 Chisholm came into the season with hopes of capturing his first Pro Stock Tour championship. Despite picking up just one win in the Lucas Oil 150 at Riverside International Speedway, Chisholm put together one of the most consistent performances of his career. Cayuga Speedway
The Jukasa Motor Speedway (formerly known as Cayuga Speedway and the Cayuga 2000 Speedway) was an auto racing track located near Cayuga in Haldimand County, Ontario, Canada. Famous stock car drivers including Dale Earnhardt, Matt Kenseth, Bobby Allison, Benny Parsons, Don Biederman and Dick Trickle have participated in racing events at Jukasa Motor Speedway on a professional level. History Origins Cayuga International Speedway opened in 1966 as a 1/2 mile "D"-shaped dirt oval, by an owners group consisting of Frank Mashell, Wayne Conroy, Milton Chesterman, and Jack Greenaigh. 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Season
The 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series was the fourth racing season since the buy out of the CASCAR Super Series. Overview In 2010 many procedures in the series remained the same, with all of the races airing on The Sports Network, TSN, in tape-delayed one-hour segments excluding Montreal and the Toronto Indy. The Sports Network, TSN and RDS provided live coverage of the NAPA Autopro 100 from the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Sunday, August 29 and July 25 from the streets of Toronto. Major changes to the series included former CASCAR champion Dave Whitlock and his team closing down leaving many looking for rides. Auto Clearing Motor Speedway
Sutherland Automotive Speedway (formerly Wyant Group Raceway and Auto Clearing Motor Speedway) is a paved oval auto racing facility just north of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It is owned and operated by the Saskatoon Stock Car Racing Association Ltd. (SSCRA). SSCRA was formed in 1954 and initially operated out of the 8th Street Racing Oval, The Motordrome, near what is now McKercher Drive and Moss Avenue in Saskatoon. The Motordrome's last year of operation was 1969, after which it was removed to make way for residential development. The SSCRA ran out of the Exhibition grounds grandstand in 1970, but area residents complained about the noise, dust and traffic. The SSCRA subsequently made a deal to purchase land for Bridge City Speedway in what is now the Evergreen neighborhood of Saskatoon. Delaware Speedway
Delaware Speedway is a half-mile paved race track that is one of the oldest continuously operating tracks in Canada. It is located a few minutes west of London, Ontario northeast of Delaware, Ontario. It hosts stock car racing every Friday night during the summer. The track opened in 1952 as a quarter-mile dirt track that was paved in 1960. In August 1969, the track was expanded to a 1/2 mile paved oval and continues today. Divisions The track hosts four different divisions as part of its home classes (Late Model, Super Stock, V8 Stock, Bone Stock). They also host the King of the Hill spectators races. The 2009 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is the third racing season since the buy out of the CASCAR Super Series. Highlights The 2009 calendar is highlighted with a race added to Saskatchewan at the Auto Clearing Motor Speedway, a return to Delaware Speedway and the dates at Cayuga, Ontario removed. Board track racing was a type of motorsport popular in the United States during the 1910s and 1920s. Competition was conducted on circular or oval race courses with surfaces composed of wooden planks. This type of track was first used for motorcycle competition, wherein they were called ''motordromes'', before being adapted for use by various different types of racing cars. The majority of the American national championship races were contested at such venues during the 1920s. Board tracks proliferated in part because they were inexpensive to construct, but they lacked durability and required a great deal of maintenance to remain usable.
