Don Tatro
Don Tatro is an American businessman and politician who served as a member of the Nevada Senate for the 16th district. Tatro was appointed to the role in November 2021, succeeding Ben Kieckhefer. Early life and education Tatro was born and raised in Carson City, Nevada. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. Career Tatro has served as a press secretary for Senator John Ensign and Tom Coburn. From February 2015 to November 2020, he was the executive director of the Builders Association of Northern Nevada, tasked with lobbying the Nevada Legislature. Tatro also owns a mortgage lending business. Tatro was appointed to the Nevada Senate in November 2021. Tom Coburn
Thomas Allen Coburn (March 14, 1948 – March 28, 2020) was an American politician and physician who served as a United States senator for Oklahoma from 2005, until his resignation in 2015. A Republican, he previously served as a United States representative. Coburn was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1994 as part of the Republican Revolution. He upheld his campaign pledge to serve no more than three consecutive terms and did not run for re-election in 2000. In 2004, he returned to political life with a successful run for the United States Senate. Coburn was re-elected to a second term in 2010 and kept his pledge not to seek a third term in 2016. John Eric Ensign (born March 25, 1958) is an American veterinarian and former politician from Nevada. A member of the Republican Party, Ensign was a Congressman and United States Senator from Nevada; he served in the latter seat from January 2001 until May 2011, when he resigned amid a Senate Ethics Committee investigation into his attempts to hide an extramarital affair. Ben Kieckhefer (born 1977) is an American politician who has served as the chief of staff to Nevada governor Joe Lombardo since 2023. A member of the Republican Party, Kieckhefer previously served as a member of the Nevada Gaming Commission from 2021 to 2023 and as a member of the Nevada Senate from the 16th district from 2010 to 2021. Born and raised in Illinois, Kieckhefer holds degrees from DePaul University and the University of Illinois Springfield. The Nevada Senate is the upper house of the Nevada Legislature, the state legislature of U.S. state of Nevada, the lower house being the Nevada Assembly. It currently (2012–2021) consists of 21 members from single-member districts. In the previous redistricting (2002–2011) there were 19 districts, two of which were multimember. Since 2012, there have been 21 districts, each formed by combining two neighboring state assembly districts. Each State Senator represented approximately 128,598 as of the 2010 United States Census. Carson City, Nevada
Carson City is an independent city and the capital of the U.S. state of Nevada. As of the 2020 census, the population was 58,639, making it the sixth largest city in Nevada. The majority of the city's population lives in Eagle Valley, on the eastern edge of the Carson Range, a branch of the Sierra Nevada, about south of Reno.
