Doesn't Play Well With Others
''Doesn't Play Well with Others'' is the second full-length solo album by Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut frontman Joey Cape, released on June 1, 2011. It was released with one song at a time, each month, during 2010 on Joey Cape's official website, beginning on January 18, 2010. The first track "Going for the Bronze" was released on January 18, 2010, while the last track "I Always Knew This Was Going to End Badly" was released on December 12, 2010. Cape's daughter Violet drew the pictures which are used as the artwork for each of the songs, as well as the full album's artwork. Before the release of the album, Cape has announced that those who will get a paid subscription would get a new song each month as well as receiving a package including a signed limited edition CD and a vinyl of all 12 songs. Joey Cape
Randal Joseph Cape (born November 16, 1966) is an American singer and musician. Active since 1989, Cape is best known as the frontman of the California punk rock band Lagwagon. Cape released his first solo album, ''Bridge'', in 2008. His second album ''Doesn't Play Well with Others'', was self-released in 2011, after he released each song on the album each month of 2010, collecting them all on CD and vinyl in the end of 2010. Biography In addition to his work with Lagwagon, he was the lead vocalist for the experimental band Bad Astronaut until they disbanded due to death of drummer Derrick Plourde and is also a guitarist in the cover band Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Moreover, Joey Cape released two split albums with Tony Sly of No Use for a Name, featuring acoustic versions of Lagwagon and No Use For a Name songs. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. ''Liverbirds'' is an acoustic alternative album by punk rock singer Joey Cape of Lagwagon and southern rock singer Jon Snodgrass of Drag the River, self-released on April 1, 2010. Production The album featured songs from Cape's bands Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut and from Snodgrass' bands Drag the River and Armchair Martian in new acoustic alternative country-flavored renditions. Lagwagon
Lagwagon is an American punk rock band originally from Goleta, California, just outside Santa Barbara. They formed in 1989, went on hiatus in 2000, and reunited several times over the years. Their name comes from the band's tour van, which can be seen on the back cover of their 1994 second album '' Trashed''. The band has 12 releases through Fat Wreck Chords: nine studio albums, one EP, one live album and a collection of B-sides, compilation tracks and demos. Lagwagon has never had, nor have they seemed to pursue, strong mainstream success, but they do have a devoted underground following in North America, Europe and Asia. Their moderate success reflected a growing interest in punk rock during the 1990s, along with fellow California bands Rancid, Green Day and The Offspring. Bad Astronaut
Bad Astronaut is an American indie/alternative rock band founded in 2000 by Joey Cape, singer from Lagwagon. In Bad Astronaut, Joey Cape explores a style of alternative rock, with lyrics often about deep and intricate personal matters. The band released its debut album, ''Acrophobe'' in 2001, followed by '' Houston: We Have a Drinking Problem'' in 2002 on Honest Don's Records. The band released its third and final album, '' Twelve Small Steps, One Giant Disappointment'' on November 14, 2006, on Fat Wreck Chords. Upon the album's release, Joey Cape announced, "without Derrick, there is no Bad Astronaut" on the band's Myspace page, deciding the resulting record would be the last for Bad Astronaut. ''Bridge'' is the first solo album by Californian punk rock musician Joey Cape, frontman of Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut, released on September 29, 2008, through Suburban Home Records. Unlike Cape's work in his bands, the album is an acoustic music, acoustic alternative rock, alternative/indie rock album, much like his work with Tony Sly on their collaborative album ''Acoustic'' from 2004. The Sainte Catherines
The Sainte Catherines were a Canadian six-piece punk-rock band who formed in Montreal in 1999. The group's name comes from '' Rue Sainte-Catherine'', one of Montreal's main streets. Their third record, ''The Art of Arrogance'' was released on local label Dare to Care Records in 2003 and on the German label Yo-Yo Records. In 2006, the band released its fourth LP, titled ''Dancing for Decadence''. The album was released in the United States by Fat Wreck Chords.
