DOEN Foundation
The DOEN Foundation (in Dutch ''Stichting DOEN'', from Dutch ''doen'' = to do, to act, take action) is a Dutch foundation supporting initiatives in the field of culture and cohesion and in the field of green and inclusive economy. The focus of the foundation is on sustainable, cultural and social innovation. DOEN receives the net proceeds of the Dutch Postcode Lottery, BankGiro Lottery and FriendsLottery. History The DOEN Foundation was established by the Dutch Postcode Lottery in 1991 ''to pursue the same objectives as the lottery (people and nature) and to complement the lottery’s work''. In 1998 the foundation starts receiving an annual contribution from the FriendsLottery (former SponorBingo Lottery); and in 2004 it received annual contributions from the BankGiro Lottery. Development Cooperation
Development aid is a type of foreign/international/overseas aid given by governments and other agencies to support the economic, environmental, social, and political development of developing countries. Closely-related concepts include: developmental aid, development assistance, official development assistance, development policy, development cooperation and technical assistance. It is distinguished from humanitarian aid by aiming at a sustained improvement in the conditions in a developing country, rather than short-term relief. Group cohesiveness (also called group cohesion and social cohesion) arises when bonds link members of a social group to one another and to the group as a whole. BankGiro Lottery
Bankgiro is a Norwegian giro system used by all banks in the country, managed by Bankenes Betalingssentral (BBS). The system allows arbitrary transactions between private accounts in all Norwegian accounts using Norwegian krone. It is optimised for online banking, though it is also available via the post ( Brevgiro), using a telephone ( Telegiro) or based on automation, including the services Avtalegiro, Autogiro and eFaktura. The Nationale Postcode Loterij (National Postcode Lottery) is the biggest charity lottery in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1989 by Novamedia, a marketing agency that sets up and runs charity lotteries. Forty percent of the proceeds of this lottery are donated amongst 81 charities, which, in 2010 amounted to over 270 million euros. Prize winners are the lot owners whose postal code, a code that forms part of the winners' residential address, has been drawn.
