Dodon (farm)
Dodon, (aka "Doden") is a farm and former forced-labor tobacco plantation in Maryland, located near the South River about south west of Annapolis. Purchased in 1747 by the planter and politician Dr George H. Steuart, it remains the home of Steuart's descendants to this day. Steuart grew wealthy during the colonial era thanks to proprietarial patronage and the forced labor of enslaved people, but his family's prosperity and status was much reduced by the American Revolution and later by the American Civil War. History Memoirs written by Richard Sprigg Steuart suggest that Dodon was originally patented to one James Stewart in 1669, a Scottish immigrant from Perth, Scotland, Perth. However, land records held by Anne Arundel County show that it was originally owned by a Dr Francis Stockett, who "held 'Dodon', 664 acres", in 1668. L'Isle-en-Dodon
L'Isle-en-Dodon (; oc, L'Isla de Haut) is a commune in the Haute-Garonne department in southwestern France. The commune has the short border with the neighbouring department, Gers. Geography L'Isle-en-Dodon is located on the Save river, at the northern end of the plate of Lannemezan. The slopes which surround the city point out the nearby gersois country. Population The inhabitants of the commune are called lislois Transportation L'Isle-en-Dodon is 60 kilometres from Toulouse by road, a journey which takes approximately an hour. A regular bus service runs three times a day to Toulouse. At Saint-Gaudens, to the south in the valley of the Garonne, the A64 autoroute and the SNCF train line pass. Lac Dodon is an iron meteorite discovered by Roland Octerneau of Montreal on rural private property near Lac Dodon, Saint-Calixte, Quebec.Kissin,S. A.; Herd, R. K., 1995, Two New Iron Meteorites from the Province of Quebec, Canada, Meteoritics, vol. 30,no. 5, page 527 The recovered fragment measures approximately x x . The meteorite was oxidized on its exterior and lying at the surface of the ground. Composition and classification The meteorite is a coarse octahedrite (mean bandwidth 1.34mm) with narrow cloudy taenite bands separating the kamacite lamellae. Occasional areas of coarse to fine acicular plessite and net plessite are Neumann lines and rhabdites. Sparsely developed Brezina lamellae and fine-grained globular schreibersite are present. At one exterior surface, a heat-affected zone 0.1mm thick containing unequilibrated alpha(sub)2-kamacite is preserved. Cloudy taenite extending into this zone has developed bainitic texture.
