The Dodgers–Padres rivalry is a Major League Baseball (MLB) National League divisional rivalry between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres, based in the two biggest cities in Southern California. The 116th World Series was a best-of-seven-playoff between the American League (AL) champion Tampa Bay Rays and the National League (NL) champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
