Doctor In Charge
''Doctor in Charge'' is a British television comedy series based on a set of books by Richard Gordon about the misadventures of a group of doctors. The series follows directly from its predecessor '' Doctor at Large''. It was produced by London Weekend Television and broadcast on ITV during 1972 and 1973. Barry Evans was unable to return for this series. ''Doctor in Charge'' was the largest of all the ''Doctor'' series, featuring 43 episodes over two series. Ratings for this series were high and featured regularly in the top 10 programmes on ITV. Robin Nedwell
Robin Courteney Nedwell (27 September 1946 – 1 February 1999) was an English actor. He is best remembered for his role as Duncan Waring in the television comedy series ''Doctor in the House'' and its sequels; he also featured in other television series such as '' The Lovers'', ''The Upchat Connection'', ''The Climber'' and the ATV comedy-drama '' Shillingbury Tales''. Biography He was born in Bournville, Birmingham, West Midlands, England but moved with his family at an early age to Cardiff, Wales, where he was educated at Monkton House prep school. Bernard McKenna (born 1944) is a Scottish writer/producer who has written, or co-written, many hours of British television comedy. He is most known for his work with Graham Chapman of ''Monty Python'' fame as well as his collaborations with Peter Cook and Douglas Adams. He has occasionally worked as an actor, and had several roles in ''Monty Python's Life of Brian''. McKenna previously taught creative writing, screenwriting and comedy at the University of Winchester. ''Doctor in the House'' is a 1954 British comedy film directed by Ralph Thomas and produced by Betty Box. The screenplay, by Nicholas Phipps, Richard Gordon and Ronald Wilkinson, is based on the 1952 novel by Gordon, and follows a group of students through medical school. DVD region codes are a digital rights management technique introduced in 1997. It is designed to allow rights holders to control the international distribution of a DVD release, including its content, release date, and price, all according to the appropriate region. Sammie Winmill (born Janice Winmill, 28 November 1948) is a British actress who had a number of roles in the 1970s, and is best known for portraying Carol in the Sci-fi series ''The Tomorrow People''. Career Her first noted appearance was alongside Ronnie Barker in the comedy ''Futtock's End'' in 1970. Following small roles with Frankie Howerd in the films of ''Up Pompeii'' and ''Up the Chastity Belt'' (1971) she secured a regular part in the sitcom ''Doctor in Charge'' in 1972 playing Nurse Sandra Crumpton. This role ran for six episodes of the first series. Soon after she appeared as Gretel in the 1972 film ''The Pied Piper'' starring Donovan.
