The fifth season of British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'' began on 2 September 1967 with the first story of season 5 ''The Tomb of the Cybermen'' and ended on 1 June 1968 with ''The Wheel in Space''. Only 22 out of 40 episodes are held in the BBC archives; 18 remain missing. As a result, only 2 serials exist entirely. However, ''The Abominable Snowmen'', ''The Ice Warriors'', ''The Web of Fear'', and ''Fury from the Deep'' have had their missing episodes reconstructed using animation. Patrick Troughton
Patrick George Troughton (; 25 March 1920 – 28 March 1987) was an English actor who was classically trained for the stage but became known for his roles in television and film. His work included appearances in several fantasy, science fiction and horror films, and playing the Second Doctor, second incarnation of The Doctor (Doctor Who), the Doctor in the long-running British science fiction on television, science-fiction television series ''Doctor Who'' from 1966 to 1969; he reprised the role in 1972–1973, 1983 and 1985. Although he is most well known for his television career and was loved by audiences for his versatility in roles, many of the productions Troughton performed in between 1947 and 1971 were amongst those either never recorded or Wiping, destroyed by UK broadcasters, most notably his stint on ''Doctor Who''. Victoria Waterfield
Victoria Waterfield is a fictional character played by Deborah Watling in the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. A native of Victorian England, she was a companion of the Second Doctor and a regular in the programme from 1967 to 1968. Only two complete serials to feature her exist in the BBC archives (''The Tomb of the Cybermen'' and ''The Enemy of the World''). DVDs of her adventures ''The Evil of the Daleks'', ''The Ice Warriors'', ''The Web of Fear'' and ''Fury from the Deep'' were also released, where official BBC reconstructions complete the missing episodes of those serials. Brigadier Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, generally referred to simply as the Brigadier, is a fictional character in the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'', created by writers Mervyn Haisman and Henry Lincoln and played by Nicholas Courtney. William Nicholas Stone Courtney (16 December 1929 – 22 February 2011) was an Egyptian-born British actor. He was known for his long-running role as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart in the BBC science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. Early life Courtney was born in Cairo, Egypt, the son of a British diplomat father and half-American mother. His paternal grandfather was the journalist William Leonard Courtney. He was educated in France, Kenya and Egypt. On his maternal side, Courtney was descended from New Zealand politician John Cuff.
