Division Of Perth
The Division of Perth is an Australian electoral division in the state of Western Australia. It is named after Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, where the Division is located. History The division was proclaimed in 1900, and was one of the original 65 divisions to be contested at the first federal election. It extends northeast along the north bank of the Swan River from Perth, including suburbs such as Maylands, Mount Lawley, Bayswater, Ashfield, Bedford, Morley, Beechboro and the Perth city centre. It is a primarily residential area, although contains an industrial area at Bayswater and major commercial centres in Perth and Morley. Between the 1940s and 1980s, it was a marginal seat that frequently changed hands between the Liberals (and their predecessors) and Labor. Beechboro is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Swan. History The name Beechboro reflects the history of the first European owner of land in the area. In 1892 Henry Brockman subdivided land in the area. The Brockman Family were well established landowners in the Swan River Colony and had considerable estates in England. City Of Stirling
The City of Stirling is a local government area in the northern suburbs of the Western Australian capital city of Perth about north of Perth's central business district. The City covers an area of and has a population of over 223,000, making it the largest local government area by population in Western Australia. History Stirling was established on 24 January 1871 as the Perth Road District under the ''District Roads Act 1871''. The district at that time included what are now the Cities of Wanneroo, Joondalup, Bayswater and Belmont. The City of Bayswater is a local government area in the Western Australian capital city of Perth, about northeast of Perth's central business district. The City covers an area of and has a population of 69,283 as at the 2021 Census. The City of Bayswater is a member of the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council. Noranda is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located in the City of Bayswater. The suburb was named in 1977 after Noranda Park, a town in the U.S. state of Florida. The portion north of Widgee Road was transferred to the City of Bayswater from the City of Swan on 1 July 2016. The suburb is a middle- to upper-middle class area with some affluent pockets. Mitchell Freeway
The Mitchell Freeway is a freeway in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, linking central Perth with the city of Joondalup. It is the northern section of State Route 2, which continues south as Kwinana Freeway and Forrest Highway. Along its length are interchanges with several major roads, including the Graham Farmer Freeway and Reid Highway. The southern terminus of the Mitchell Freeway is at the Narrows Bridge, which crosses the Swan River, and the northern terminus is at Hester Avenue, Clarkson, a suburb within the City of Wanneroo.
