Diving At The 2022 Commonwealth Games – Men's 10 Metre Platform
The men's 10 metre platform is part of the Diving at the 2022 Commonwealth Games program. The competition will be held on 7 August 2022 at Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Birmingham. Format The competition will be held in two rounds: * Preliminary round: All divers perform six dives; the top 12 divers advance to the final. * Final: The 12 divers perform six dives; the preliminary round scores are erased and the top three divers win the gold, silver and bronze medals accordingly. Sandwell Aquatics Centre
Sandwell Aquatics Centre is an indoor facility located in Londonderry, Smethwick, West Midlands, England. It contains an Olympic-size swimming pool (one of only two in the West Midlands region), a 10-metre diving board with 25 metre pool (the only one in the whole of the Midlands), a community swimming pool and permanent seating for 1,000 spectators with an additional 4,000 seats during the Games. Construction began in January 2020 and opened on 12th April 2022 to mark 100 days until the start of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The centre was initially used for the 2022 Commonwealth Games and was the only venue constructed for the games. After the games, the centre is scheduled to be redeveloped and will officially open for public use in May 2023 when it will be operated by the Sandwell Leisure Trust. Matthew Lewis Dixon (born 19 April 2000) is an English diver who represents Great Britain and specialises in the 10 metre platform event. He won a silver medal at the European Championships in the 10 m synchro platform with Noah Williams as well as two silvers at the Commonwealth Games. Aidan Heslop (born 18 April 2002) is a British diver and high diver who competes internationally representing Wales and Great Britain. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games he competed representing Wales, finishing 6th in the 10 metre platform and 12th in the 3 metre springboard. Noah Oliver Williams (born 15 May 2000) is an English Diving (sport), diver who represents Great Britain and specialises in the 10 metre platform event. He has won silver medals in the 10 metre synchro platform with Matthew Dixon (diver), Matthew Dixon at the European Championships (multi-sport event), European Championships and the Commonwealth Games. Early life Williams is from Hoxton in Hackney, London. Nathan Zsombor-Murray (born April 28, 2003) is a Canadian diver in the platform (10 metre) events. Career At the age of 14, Zsombor-Murray made his World Championships debut in 2017, where he finished in fifth place in the mixed 10 m synchro event with Meaghan Benfeito.
