Diving At The 2014 Commonwealth Games – Women's Synchronised 3 Metre Springboard
The women's synchronised 3 metre springboard was part of the Diving at the 2014 Commonwealth Games program. The competition was held on 30 July 2014 at Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh. Format A single round was held, with each team making five dives. Eleven judges scored each dive: three for each diver, and five for synchronisation. Only the middle score counted for each diver, with the middle three counting for synchronization. These five scores were averaged, multiplied by 3, and multiplied by the dive's degree of difficulty to give a total dive score. Royal Commonwealth Pool
The Royal Commonwealth Pool is a listed building#Scotland, category-A-listed building in St Leonard's, Edinburgh, St Leonard's, Edinburgh, Scotland that houses one of Scotland's main swimming pools. It is usually referred to simply as the Commonwealth Pool and known colloquially as the 'Commie'. History The pool was commissioned by the Council under a plan by the then Lord Provost, Sir Herbert Archbold Brechin in 1966 as part of a wider project to bring the Commonwealth Games to Edinburgh. This, with the help of other committee members such as Sir John Inch, came to fruition in October 1969. Construction began in 1967 and was completed in October 1969. Nur Dhabitah binti Sabri (born 12 July 1999) is a Malaysian diver. She is the youngest Malaysian diver to champion two senior international competitions. Early and personal life Dhabitah was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Sabri Hashim and Fazidah Jaafar. She is the youngest among four siblings. Initially, she started her aquatic exposure through swimming clubs. After several competition, her father decided to switch her into diving due to her small body physique. She learned swimming and diving together with her older brother, Muhammad Danial Sabri. Both of them were planning to debut internationally together but unable due to Danial's traumatic physical injury sustained before the debut. Cheong Jun Hoong () (born 16 April 1990) is a Malaysian diver. She won a silver medal in the synchronised 10m platform event with Pandelela Rinong at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Esther Qin (; born 18 November 1991) is a Chinese-born Australian retired diver. Personal life Qin was born in Liuzhou, Guangxi, China to a Zhuang family. Her family moved to Australia in 2009, as her father had found a position as a chef. Diving career In China Qin started diving at the age of eleven in China and competed in several national competitions.
