Disney Channel (Dutch TV Channel)
Disney Channel is the Dutch edition based on the American channel of the same name, owned by the Walt Disney Company. The channel is broadcasting free-to-cable, and all content is dubbed in Dutch. The channel features a mix of original sitcoms, teen drama series, animation movies and original movies (presented as DCOMs). English audio is also available on the operators Ziggo, Canal Digitaal, TV Vlaanderen, Caiway, Proximus and Telenet. There are two different versions with local advertisements. While currently not using a slogan, the tagline 'Dat moet je meemaken!' (English: 'You have got to experience this!') has been used in the past. UPC Nederland ( en, UPC Netherlands) was the second largest cable operator in the Netherlands, providing cable television (digital and analogue), broadband Internet, and telephone service to both residential and commercial customers. In early 2015, UPC Nederland started merging with Ziggo. The name ''UPC'' was finally phased out in favor of ''Ziggo'' on 13 April 2015. ''Ghostforce'' (also named ''Ghost Force'') is a French CGI animated series created by Jeremy Zag that premiered on TFOU in France on August 28, 2021. CanalDigitaal is a provider of digital television via satellite for the Dutch market, using the Astra satellites at 23.5° east. Initially customers were mainly Dutch citizens in the countryside who did not have cable access. But in the meantime the company also managed to expand into the cities. This is sometimes complicated in the Netherlands due to local building codes restricting the placement of satellite dishes. The company now also actively markets its products to countries outside the Netherlands and it is no longer necessary to have a Dutch address or bank account to take out a subscription.
