Discovery Center Of Taipei
The Discovery Center of Taipei () is an educational center in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. The center is located at Taipei City Hall. History The center was inaugurated on 16 December 2002 presided by Taipei Mayor Ma Ying-jeou from the former Taipei City Archives. He said that the center was established to let Taipei residents to understand the history of Taipei City better. Architecture The center is located in the renovated former Taipei City information center of the city hall. Xinyi District, Taipei
Xinyi District or Sinyi District is the seat of the Taipei City Government and Taipei City Council. The district includes Taipei 101, Taipei International Convention Center, Taipei World Trade Center, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (Taipei), National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and various shopping malls and entertainment venues, making it the most cosmopolitan district of Taipei. Mayor Of Taipei
The Mayor of Taipei is the head of the Taipei City Government and is elected to a four-year term. Ma Ying-jeou ( zh, 馬英九, born 13 July 1950) is a Hong Kong-born Taiwanese politician who served as president of the Republic of China from 2008 to 2016. Previously, he served as justice minister from 1993 to 1996 and mayor of Taipei from 1998 to 2006. He served as chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT) from 2005 to 2007 and from 2009 to 2014. Taipei City Hall () is a metro station in Taipei, Taiwan served by Taipei Metro. Station overview The two-level, underground station structure with an island platform and four exits. The size of the station is larger than most other stations on the Nangang Line. The station is situated under Zhongxiao East Road, between Keelung Road and Songren Road. Washrooms are located outside of the fare area of the station. Due to crowding during New Year's festivities, automatic platform gates have been installed at this station. In recent years, the station has gone through renovations to connect it with a bus transfer station, mall, and hotel above. The Taipei City Hall Bus Station opened for service on 5 August 2010.
