Disco Volante (Mr. Bungle Album)
''Disco Volante'' ( Italian for ''Flying Saucer'') is the second studio album by American experimental rock band Mr. Bungle. It was released on October 10, 1995, through Warner Bros., and is their most experimental album, mixing elements from such varied styles as death metal, jazz, arabic music, musique concrète, easy listening and even klezmer or tango. Background The album's title refers to the name of the yacht of the same name featured in the James Bond film '' Thunderball'', literally meaning "Flying Saucer" in Italian. Mr. Bungle had previously covered the film's theme song live and in studio, but it was never officially released. ''Disco Volante'' would be founding member Theo Lengyel's final album with the band, leaving shortly after the tour due to "artistic differences". Peter Thomas (composer)
Peter Thomas (1 December 1925 – 17 May 2020) was a German composer and arranger with an active career of more than 50 years. He was known for his TV and film soundtracks such as '' Raumpatrouille'', the Edgar Wallace movies film series, and the Jerry Cotton film series. Life Thomas was born in Breslau, Silesia. In the 1950s, he played as a musician for the RIAS broadcaster, typically live. The restored Brandenburg Gate in Berlin was re-opened in 2002 with a live version of the main theme of the '' Raumpatrouille'' soundtrack. A rave (from the verb: '' to rave'') is a dance party at a warehouse, club, or other public or private venue, typically featuring performances by DJs playing electronic dance music. Techno
Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). Exotica is a musical genre, named after the 1957 Martin Denny album of the same name that was popular during the 1950s to mid-1960s with Americans who came of age during World War II. The term was coined by Simon "Si" Waronker, Liberty Records co-founder board chairman. Trey Spruance
Preston Lea "Trey" Spruance III (born August 14, 1969) is an American composer, producer, and musician who co-founded the experimental rock band Mr. Bungle. He is also leader of the multi-genre outfit Secret Chiefs 3. Originally a guitarist and trumpeter, in the early 90s Spruance began playing vintage electronic organs, analog synthesizers, saz, santur, electric sitar, tar, and various other string and percussion instruments. In the mid 90s he founded Forking Paths Studio where his production techniques were applied to Mr. Bungle and Secret Chiefs 3 records among many others.
