''Dirty Gold'' is the debut studio album by American rapper Angel Haze. It was released on December 30, 2013, by Island Records and Republic Records. The 12-song effort features production from Markus Dravs, Mike Dean, Greg Kurstin, Malay, Rudimental and A Tribe Called Red, and a track written by Australian singer-songwriter Sia. The album was supported by two singles: "Echelon (It's My Way)" and "Battle Cry" featuring Sia; along with the promotional single, "No Bueno". Background In July 2012, Angel Haze released their EP ''Reservation'' for free online. It was met with critical acclaim, receiving an 88/100 score at Metacritic. On the same year, they took part in the BET Hip Hop Awards' Cypher. Raykeea Raeen-Roes Wilson (born July 10, 1991) known professionally as ROES (fka Angel Haze), is an American rapper and singer. In 2012, Wilson released the mixtape ''Reservation'' and later signed a record deal with Universal Republic Records before moving to Republic Records. Rapping
Rapping (also rhyming, spitting, emceeing or MCing) is a musical form of vocal delivery that incorporates "rhyme, rhythmic speech, and street vernacular". La'Reonte Wright (born November 26, 1990), known professionally as Dizzy Wright, is an American rapper and record producer. In December 2011, Wright signed to rapper Hopsin's independent record label, Funk Volume. After signing, he released his debut studio album ''SmokeOut Conversations'' in April 2012. He followed that with ''The First Agreement'' in December of that year, and then a mixtape '' The Golden Age'' in August 2013. Funk Volume
Funk Volume was an American independent record label founded by American rapper Hopsin. The label was home to artists Dizzy Wright, Jarren Benton, SwizZz, and producers DJ Hoppa and Kato. The label is defunct due to a feud between co-founders Hopsin and Damien "Dame" Ritter in regards to financial alterations. Following the feud Hopsin decided to leave the label, resulting in all affiliated artists leaving Funk Volume. The label was shut down soon after.
