Dimitris Kremastinos
Dimitris Kremastinos ( Greek: Δημήτρης Κρεμαστινός; Greece, 1 May 1942 – 8 May 2020) was a Greek politician, physician, Professor of Cardiology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. Life He had served as Minister of Health and Welfare and Social Security from 1993 to 1996. In 2000, Kremastinos was elected as a member of the Hellenic Parliament, where he served till 2004 and in 2009 was elected once again, serving till 2019. He was elected MP of the Dodecanese with PASOK and the Democratic Alignment. He was the personal physician of Andreas Papandreou. COVID-19 Pandemic In Greece
The COVID-19 pandemic in Greece is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 () caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (). The first case in Greece was confirmed on 26 February 2020 when a 38-year-old woman from Thessaloniki who had recently visited Νorthern Italy, was confirmed to be infected. Subsequent cases in late February and early March related to people who had travelled to Italy and a group of pilgrims who had travelled to Israel and Egypt, as well as their contacts. The first death from COVID-19 in Greece was a 66-year-old man, who died on 12 March. Since the opening of the Greek borders to tourists at the end of June 2020, the daily number of confirmed cases announced has included those detected following tests at the country's entry points. PASOK Politicians
The Panhellenic Socialist Movement ( el, Πανελλήνιο Σοσιαλιστικό Κίνημα, Panellínio Sosialistikó Kínima, ), known mostly by its acronym PASOK, (; , ) is a social-democratic political party in Greece. Until 2012, it was one of the two major parties in the country, along with New Democracy, its main political rival.
