Digha–Sonpur Bridge
The Digha–Sonpur bridge ( hi, दीघा-सोनपुर पुल) or J. P. Setu ( hi, जेपी सेतु) is a rail-cum-road bridge across river Ganga, connecting Digha Ghat in Patna and Pahleja Ghat in Sonpur, Saran district in the Indian state of Bihar. It is named after Indian independence activist Jayaprakash Narayan (J. P.). The rail-cum-road bridge provides easy roadway and railway link between northern and southern parts of Bihar. It is a steel truss bridge. Regular scheduled passenger rail service was inaugurated on this route on 3 February 2016. This bridge of length is the second longest rail-cum-road bridge in India, after Bogibeel Bridge in Assam. This is second railway bridge in Bihar after Rajendra Setu that connects North Bihar to South Bihar. Digha Bridge Halt Railway Station
Digha Bridge Halt is a small railway station in Patna district, Bihar, India. Its railway station code is DGBH. This halt was constructed 3 km north from , near Danapur Bankipur road. It saves time for rail passengers going to Gandhi Maidan at least 1 hour. The distance between the Digha–Sonpur Bridge and this halt is around 2 km. Due to this small but functional railway station many students, government employees and elderly people including patients, get easy access to basic transportation to Patna. Mahatma Gandhi Setu
Mahatma Gandhi Setu (also called Gandhi Setu or Ganga Setu) is a bridge over the river Ganges in Bihar, India, connecting Patna in the south to Hajipur in the north. Its length is and it is the third-longest river bridge in India. It was inaugurated in May 1982 in a ceremony in Hajipur by the then prime minister, Indira Gandhi. From 1982 to 2017, Mahatma Gandhi Setu remained as the longest bridge in India. Later, Gandhi Setu rehabilitation project was undertaken to install triangular steel trusses on Mahatma Gandhi Setu. Lalu Prasad Yadav
Lalu Prasad Yadav (born 11 June 1948) is an Indian politician and president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He is a former List of Chief Ministers of Bihar, Chief Minister of Bihar (1990-1997), a former Ministry of Railways (India), Railway Minister of India (2004-2009), and a former Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Member of Parliament (MP) of the Lok Sabha. He entered politics at Patna University as a student leader and in 1977 at the age of 29, was elected as the youngest member of the Lok Sabha for the Janata Party. Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in the eastern Indian state of Bihar. Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency is reserved for SC. Former Bihar Chief Minister Ram Sundar Das first contested from this seat in 1957 as a Socialist when he was 36 years old, and 57 years later in 2014 for Nitish Kumar's JD-U when he was 93. He lost both those polls but won in 1991 and 2009. From 1977 to 2019, this seat was dominated by Ram Vilas Paswan who won eight times from here and lost only twice, in 1984 and 2009.
