''Different Animals'' is the third studio album by American progressive metalcore band Volumes, released on June 9, 2017 through Fearless Records. It is the first album to feature former Bury Your Dead vocalist Myke Terry as co-vocalist, and the only album to not feature founding co-vocalist Michael Barr. The album was also the final studio album with co-vocalist Gus Farias and guitarist Diego Farias. Volumes (sometimes stylized as VOLUMES) is an American progressive metalcore band based in Los Angeles Los Angeles ( ; es, Los Ángeles, link=no , ), often referred to by its initials L.A., is the largest city in the state of California and the second most populous city in the United States after New York City, as well as one of the world' ..., California. Djent () is a subgenre of progressive metal characterised by its use of off-beat and complex rhythm patterns. Its distinctive sound is that of high-gain, distorted, palm-muted, down-tuned strings. The name "djent" is an onomatopoeia of this sound. Fearless Records is an American independent record label that was founded in 1994. ''No Sleep'' is the second studio album by American progressive metalcore band Volumes, released on July 15, 2014. It is the last album to feature founding member and co-vocalist Michael Barr until his return in 2020, and it is the last to be released under the label Mediaskare Records. The album is a departure from the sound of their previous album, ''Via'', as many of the songs are shorter in length, and contain more clean singing compared to those from the first album. A lyric video was released for "The Mixture" and the full album was streamed by Mediaskare Records via YouTube. Along with their 2011 release ''Via'', the album was re-released in 2016 independently under the 91367 Records moniker, remastered and with a new cover. The remastered version omits the outro from the third track, "Erased", for unknown reasons. ''Happier?'' is the fourth studio album by American progressive metalcore band Volumes. It was released on November 19, 2021 through Fearless Records. The album was produced by Raad Soudani, Daniel Braunstein and Max Schad. On June 17, 2022, the band released their third EP entitled ''Bend(ed)'', featuring two different takes of the song "Bend" from ''Happier?''. Among them are a stripped down version and a live rendition, in addition to the original studio version of the song. Background and recording On July 16, 2019, Volumes announced that they are working on new material for the forthcoming album. On February 12, 2021, the band have concluded the recording sessions for their new album. On April 14, the group announced that the album is in mixing process. Bury Your Dead is an American metalcore band from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 2001. The current lineup is guitarist Chris Towning, lead vocalist Mat Bruso, drummer Mark Castillo, and bassist Aaron Patrick. Kevin Pouya (born December 20, 1994), known mononymously as Pouya, is an American rapper from Miami, Florida. Considered as a pioneer of the early underground rap scene that began on SoundCloud in 2012, along with discovering the well known hip-hop duo Suicideboys in their early career, Pouya has developed a long lasting core fanbase as an independent artist. Early life As a teenager, Pouya and his best friend Nicholas Voutsinas (known professionally as "Fat Nick") had a YouTube comedy channel called ''NICK AND POUYA SHOW''. While mostly being comedy sketches, the videos also served as mini vlogs for the friends.
