Dickie Foss
Sidney Lacy Richard Foss (28 November 1912 – 3 August 1995), commonly known as Dick Foss or Dickie Foss, was an English professional footballer who played as a left half in the Football League for Chelsea, with whom he had a 30-year association. He later served as youth team manager at the club. The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. The First Division contained between 12 and 24 clubs, playing each other home and away in a double round robin. The competition was based on two points for a win from 1888 until the increase to three points for a win in 1981.
