Diceman (comics)
''Diceman'' was a short-lived British comic which ran for five issues in 1986. It was a spin-off from ''2000 AD (comic), 2000 AD'' and was devised by Pat Mills, who also wrote almost all of the stories. It was edited by Simon Geller (comics), Simon Geller, but purported to be edited by a monster called Mervyn. The stories were designed to be played like gamebooks. Each issue contained two or three such stories and was published every two months. Stories The comic mostly contained stories based on characters who already appeared regularly in ''2000 AD''. Its eponymous character Diceman, also known as Rick Fortune, was created specially for the comic (by Pat Mills and Graham Manley), but did not appear until the second issue. Fortune was a "psychic investigator", a 1930s American private detective with psionics, psionic powers. Rogue Trooper
''Rogue Trooper'' is a science fiction strip in the British comic '' 2000 AD'', created by Gerry Finley-Day and Dave Gibbons in 1981. It portrays the adventures of a " Genetic Infantryman" named Rogue and three uploaded minds mounted on his equipment who search for the Traitor General. The series was rebooted in 1989 in the story "The War Machine", featuring a new version of the character called Friday. This version of the character last appeared in 1996. The original character returned in 1999 and all stories since then have featured the original Rogue. The character has also featured in a number of ''2000 AD'' crossovers. Publication history Gibbons left the strip early on to be replaced by a succession of artists and writers who have taken the strip in several different directions over the years. ''2000 AD'' is a weekly British science fiction-oriented comic magazine. As a comics anthology it serialises stories in each issue (known as "progs") and was first published by IPC Magazines in 1977, the first issue dated 26 February. Since 2000 it has been published by Rebellion Developments. ''2000 AD'' is most noted for its ''Judge Dredd'' stories, and has been contributed to by a number of artists and writers who became renowned in the field internationally, such as Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons, Grant Morrison, Brian Bolland, Mike McMahon, John Wagner, Alan Grant and Garth Ennis. Mike Collins (comics)
Mike Collins (b. 1961 in West Bromwich, UK) is an English comic book artist and writer and has been working in comics since the mid-1980s. Biography Born in West Bromwich in 1961, he moved to Wales in 1985 after an abortive stab at a career in the law, in London. Despite his training as a barrister, Mike decided that he enjoyed the fiction-based life of comic book characters over the fiction-based statements of clients. He is married to Karen Collins and father of three daughters, Bethan, Rebecca and Rhiannon, and is currently placed in Cardiff. He is the grandson of Military Medal-winning World War One soldier Thomas Guinane. John Ridgway (comic Artist)
John Ridgway (born 4 May 1940) is an English comic book artist. He is best known as the first artist of the comic book series ''Hellblazer'', featuring John Constantine. Career Ridgway began his career initially as a hobby, drawing D. C. Thomson & Co. Ltd, D.C.Thompson's Commando Comics, Commando War Stories alongside professional work as a design engineer. In 1984 Ridgway became a full-time professional, broadening his employment to include 2000 AD (comic), ''2000 AD'', Guttenberghus, Marvel Comics and DC Comics. Ridgway's full-colour work is immediately distinctive for its unusual realism coupled with a delicate, sketchy pencil line, the two combining to give a slightly old-fashioned look influenced strongly by classic British artist Frank Hampson. Mark Farmer
Mark Farmer (born 1957 in Birmingham) is a British comic book artist. He is best known as an inker, often working with Alan Davis. Career Farmer got his start in the UK comics industry before becoming part of the British Invasion, the wave of UK creators that were an integral part of the DC Comics "new look" of the 1980s He is primarily known these days as an inker, although he has done some pencilling as well (for instance, collaborating with writer Len Wein on an early 1980s run on ''Green Lantern''). Like nearly all those involved in the British Invasion, Farmer got his start at the British weekly comic '' 2000 AD'', where he pencilled such series as Judge Dredd and Anderson: Psi Division. David Lloyd (comics)
David Lloyd (born 1950) is an English comics artist best known as the illustrator of the story ''V for Vendetta'', written by Alan Moore, and the designer of its anarchist protagonist V and the modern Guy Fawkes/V mask, the latter going on to become a symbol of protest. Other books he has illustrated include ''Wasteland'', '' Espers'', ''Hellblazer'', ''Global Frequency'', '' The Territory'', and licensed properties such as ''Aliens'' and ''James Bond''. Kevin O'Neill ( – 3 November 2022) was an English comic book illustrator who was the co-creator of ''Nemesis the Warlock'', ''Marshal Law'' (with writer Pat Mills), and ''The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'' (with Alan Moore). Bryan Talbot
Bryan Talbot (born 24 February 1952) is a British comics artist and writer, best known as the creator of ''The Adventures of Luther Arkwright'' and its sequel '' Heart of Empire'', as well as the ''Grandville'' series of books. He collaborated with his wife, Mary M. Talbot to produce '' Dotter of Her Father's Eyes'', which won the 2012 Costa biography award. Early life Bryan Talbot was born in Wigan, Lancashire on 24 February 1952. Steve Dillon
Steve Dillon (22 March 1962 – 22 October 2016) was a British comic book artist, best known for his work with writer Garth Ennis on ''Hellblazer'', ''Preacher'' and ''The Punisher''. Early life Dillon was born in London in 1962 and raised in Luton, Bedfordshire. He was the oldest of three siblings, a sister younger by three years, Julie, and a brother younger by nine years who is cartoonist/costume designer Glyn Dillon. While attending Icknield High School, Dillon first realised his potential as a serious comic book artist during the production of a school comic book called ''Ultimate Sci Fi Adventures'' with school friends Neil Bailey & Paul Mahon in 1975.
