Dianne Primavera
Dianne I. Primavera (born January 28, 1950) is an American politician who is the 50th lieutenant governor of Colorado. A Democrat, she previously served as the Colorado State Representative for the 33rd district from 2007 to 2011, and again from 2013 to 2017. Democratic nominee Jared Polis selected Primavera as his running mate for Lieutenant Governor of Colorado in the 2018 Colorado gubernatorial election. A vocational counselor and government manager, Primavera was first elected to the Colorado House of Representatives in 2006, after an unsuccessful campaign in 2004. She represented House District 33, centered around Broomfield, Colorado. In the legislature, Primavera focused heavily on health care issues. After two years out of politics, Primavera was once again elected to the statehouse in the 2012 election. She was reelected in 2014 and did not seek reelection in 2016. The lieutenant governor of Colorado, who acts as governor of Colorado in the absence of the officeholder and succeeds to the governorship in case of vacancy, is elected on a partisan ticket. After the 1966 general election, the Constitution of Colorado was amended to require the joint election of governor and lieutenant governor — candidates running as a ticket. William Forrester Owens (born October 22, 1950) is an American former politician who served as the 40th Governor of Colorado from 1999 to 2007. "Get out the vote" or "getting out the vote" (GOTV) describes efforts aimed at increasing the voter turnout in elections. In countries that do not have or enforce compulsory voting, voter turnout can be low, sometimes even below a third of the eligible voter pool. GOTV efforts typically attempt to register voters, then get them to vote, by absentee ballot, early voting or election day voting. GOTV is generally not required for elections when there are effective compulsory voting systems in place, other than perhaps to register first time voters. There are two types of GOTV efforts. The ''Broomfield Enterprise'' is the city newspaper for Broomfield, Colorado, United States, and is published once a week on Sundays. It is published by Prairie Mountain Publishing, which is owned by MediaNews Group. The ''Enterprise'' was founded in 1975. The founding editor was Roseann Doran. Pasta primavera ("Spring Pasta" in Italian) is an American dish that consists of pasta in a and fresh vegetables, invented in the 1970s. Origins In 1975, New York restaurateur Sirio Maccioni flew to the Canadian summer home of Italian Baron Carlo Amato, Shangri-La Ranch on Robert's Island, Nova Scotia. Maccioni and his two top chefs began experimenting with game and fish, but eventually the baron and his guests wanted something different. Maccioni then mixed butter, cream and cheese, with vegetables and pasta and brought the recipe back to New York City.
