Dhoom (2004 Film)
''Dhoom'' () is a 2004 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and written by Vijay Krishna Acharya, based on a story by producer Aditya Chopra. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Uday Chopra, Esha Deol and Rimi Sen. It is the first installment of the ''Dhoom'' franchise. The cinematography was done by Nirav Shah, and the original soundtrack was composed by Pritam, while Salim–Sulaiman provided the background score for the film. ''Dhoom'' was the first action film produced by Yash Raj Films in 16 years, ever since Yash Chopra's '' Vijay'' (1988). It tells the story of a cat & mouse game between a motorbike gang which commits robberies throughout Mumbai and a Mumbai police officer who teams up with a motorbike dealer to stop them. Sanjay Gadhvi
Sanjay Gadhvi is an Indian film director and writer who is known for the first two installments of the '' Dhoom series''. Early life Sanjay Gadhvi was born to Manubhai Gadhvi, a prominent figure in Gujarati folk literature. His father moved into Mumbai's first 14-floor skyscraper on Peddar Road before he was born. As a child he studied in Campion School and was friends with prominent industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla. Career He made his directorial debut with '' Tere Liye'' (2000) which went unnoticed. The film was earlier titled ''Tu Hi Bataa'' and the movie had starred Arjun Rampal and Raveena Tandon, but the movie stalled due to low budget. Yash Chopra
Yash Raj Chopra (27 September 1932 21 October 2012) was an Indian people, Indian film director and film producer who worked in Bollywood, Hindi cinema. The founding chairman of the film production and distribution company Yash Raj Films, Chopra was the recipient of several awards, including 6 National Film Awards and 8 Filmfare Awards. He is considered among the best Indian filmmakers. For his contributions to film, the Government of India honoured him with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2001, and the Padma Bhushan in 2005. In 2006, British Academy of Film and Television Arts presented him with a lifetime membership, making him the first Indian to receive the honour.
