Dholera International Airport
Dholera International Airport is a greenfield airport project in Gujarat, India. It will be built near Navagam in the Dholera taluka of Ahmedabad district. The project site is spread over 1,426 hectares about 80 kilometers from Ahmedabad and around 20 kilometres from the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). The airport would serve the logistics requirements of the DSIR, which is planned as a huge industrial township in the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project (DMIC), as well as to relieve congestion of the existing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. It is expected to be commissioned by June 2024. Dholera Special Investment Region
Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is a Greenfield project, Greenfield industrial planned city in Gujarat's Ahmedabad district, around 100 kilometers to the south-west. A legal framework known as the Special Investment Region Act 2009 was made by the Government of Gujarat. A regional development authority for DSIR has been constituted in accordance with the act. The Dholera Special Investment Region Development Authority (DSIRDA) would be in charge of managing government land within DSIR in addition to planning and developing DSIR. The Central Government (NICDC Trust) and the State Government (DSIRDA) of Gujarat have formed an SPV called Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL) to carry out the project. Gandhinagar (, ) is the capital of the state of Gujarat in India. Gandhinagar is located approximately 23 km north of Ahmedabad, on the west central point of the Industrial corridor between Delhi, the political capital of India, and Mumbai, the financial capital of India. Gandhinagar lies on the west bank of the Sabarmati River, about 545 km (338 miles) north of Mumbai and 901 km (560 miles) southwest of Delhi. The Akshardham temple is located in Gandhinagar. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) is an international airport serving the twin cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat, India. The airport is located in Hansol, north of Ahmedabad. It is named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the 1st Deputy Prime Minister of India. The airport is the busiest and largest airport in the state of Gujarat. Dholera is a village in Ahmedabad district of Gujarat state in India. History Dholera was also an ancient port-city in Gulf of Khambhat, 30 km. from Dhandhuka village of Ahmedabad district. Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Dholera is one of the six temples built by Swaminarayan. Since 2011, the Government of Gujarat has been making plans to develop a smart city at Bhal area.
