Dewey Lake Monster
The Dewey Lake Monster, also known as the Sister Lakes Sasquatch, in Michigan folklore, is purported to be an ape-like creature, similar to descriptions of Bigfoot, that was allegedly sighted in the summer of 1964 near Dewey Lake and Sister Lakes in Dowagiac. Description The creature was described as covered in hair, approximately tall, , and had glowing eyes. History In June of 1964, the story gained national attention after local residents reported seeing a large, hairy creature with glowing eyes. WKFR (103.3 FM), also known as KFR, is a Top 40 outlet serving the Kalamazoo, Michigan radio market. It broadcasts with an ERP of 50 kW in Battle Creek, Michigan and is owned by Townsquare Media. History The station began operations in June 1963 as WELL-FM at 96.5 MHz, duplicating the programming of then-sister WELL/1400 (now WBFN). Keeler Township is a civil township in Van Buren County, Michigan, USA. At the 2000 census, the population was 2,601. Keeler Township is largely agricultural, though it has a large influx of summer visitors who own cottages or stay at summer resorts in the Sister Lakes area in the township's southwest corner. WFMK (99.1 FM) is an adult contemporary radio station licensed to East Lansing, Michigan and serving the Lansing radio market. The station is owned by Townsquare Media and broadcasts in HD radio. WFMK is one of the United States' oldest adult contemporary stations, having programmed the format for almost four decades. The station signed on in 1959 as WSWM, and offered a MOR format. Bears are carnivoran mammals of the family Ursidae. They are classified as caniforms, or doglike carnivorans.
