Devotion (Chinese: 阿娣) is a Singaporean Chinese drama which was telecasted on Singapore's free-to-air channel, MediaCorp Channel 8. It stars Zoe Tay, Chen Hanwei, Zhou Ying, Cynthia Wang, Zhang Zhenhuan, Kate Pang & Adeline Lim as the casts of the series. It made its debut on 28 June 2011 and ended its run on 1 August 2011. This drama serial consists of 25 episodes, and was screened on every weekday night at 9.00 pm. The storyline spans 40 years, and is also dubbed the mid-year blockbuster-cum-47th anniversary drama. Synopsis Liu Zhao Di (Zoe Tay), better known as Ah Di, is born in the 60s amidst sand quarries during the heyday of sand quarrying. Zhao Di, the fourth daughter in the family and whose name means "brings a younger brother", is given away to an uncle after her mother finally gives birth to a boy. He mistreats Ah Di like a maid. Zoe Tay
Zoe Tay (; born 10 January 1968) is a Singaporean actress and former model. She has been referred to as the "Queen of Caldecott Hill" and "Ah Jie" (Top Actress) by the local media since the rise of her popularity in the 1990s. She is one of the first batch of actors to receive the Star Awards All-Time Favourite Artiste award, along with Li Nanxing and Chew Chor Meng. To date, Tay has received four Star Awards for Best Actress - a record for most number of wins in the category. Early life Tay is the sixth of seven children born to Teochew parents. Chen Guohua
Chen Guohua, born Tan Kok Hwa, is a Singaporean actor and contracted artiste under MediaCorp. Career Chen graduated from the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation 5th Year Artiste Training Class. He was trained by veteran theatrical teachers such as Mao Wei, Li Yongxi, Zhu Bingquan and Xia Chuan. Chen was cast in his debut role in the long-running TV series ''Neighbours'' in 1986. Unriddle 2 (simplified Chinese: 最火搭档 2) is a Singaporean Chinese police crime drama which was telecast on Singapore's free-to-air channel, Mediacorp Channel 8. It stars Rui En, Chen Liping, Rebecca Lim, Tay Ping Hui & Elvin Ng as the casts for the second series. This drama serial consists of 20 episodes, and was screened on every weekday night at 9:00 pm. ''Star Search'' () is a television show from 1988 to 2019 organised by MediaCorp to scout for Chinese language-speaking acting talent. History Star Search started out as a Singapore local talent show, restricted to residents of Singapore. After the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation discontinued its drama training courses in the early 1990s, Star Search became one of Channel 8's main sources to scout for talent. The Ultimatum (simplified Chinese: 双子星) is a Singaporean Chinese drama which was telecasted on Singapore's free-to-air channel, MediaCorp Channel 8. Huang Wenyong
Huang Wenyong (25 July 1952 – 20 April 2013) was a Malaysia-born Singaporean actor and former teacher of Chinese descent. Local media and colleagues referred to him as "Ah Ge" (senior actor) due to his status. Huang died at the Singapore General Hospital at around 5 pm (GMT+8) on 20 April 2013, at the age of 60 due to lymphoma. Early life and career Huang was a teacher in Kuala Lumpur before leaving for Singapore. Huang moved to Singapore in the 1970s, with only fifty dollars in hand. He joined the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation in 1981.
