Devighat Hydropower Station
Devighat Hydropower Station is a 14.1 MW cascade project of Trishuli Hydropower Station. The station is located at Bidur Municipality in Nuwakot, Nepal. The plant was commissioned in 1984. The plant was developed jointly by the Government of India and the Government of Nepal. The project cost was NPR 750 Million. The plant was overhauled in 2011 to regain efficiency. The design flow is 45.66 m3/s and the rated head is 40.5 m. Nuwakot District
Nuwakot District ( ne, नुवाकोट जिल्ला, a part of Bagmati Province, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Bidur as its district headquarters, covers an area of and had a population of 288,478 in 2001 and 277,471 in 2011. It is a historically important district in Nepal. Prithvi Narayan Shah died in Devighat of Nuwakot. The district contains places of historical significance such as the town of Nuwakot, and the village of Devighat located at the confluence of the Tadi and Trishuli Rivers. Kakani is popular among Nepalese people as a touristic place and picnic spot. Nuwakot holds the different reminance from the unification movement pioneered by late king Prithvi Narayan Shah to the present situation. Trishuli Hydropower Station
Trishuli Hydropower Station is a peaking run-of-river hydropower station located at Trishuli bazaar of Nuwakot district in Nepal. The intake of the plant lies in Rasuwa district.The plant was constructed in 1976 with an installed capacity of 21 MW (7 units, 3 MW each). The plant was upgraded to 37 MW. The project was developed jointly by the Government of India and the Government of Nepal. The project cost was INR 140 million. The annual energy generation is 304.78 GWh.Nepal Electricity Authority, a government-run organization, owns and operates this plant. Bidur
Bidur is the capital of Nuwakot District in Bagmati Province, Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 18694 and had 3736 houses in it. In February 2008 terrorists damaged the town's water supply plant. Run-of-the-river Power Stations
Run-of-river hydroelectricity (ROR) or run-of-the-river hydroelectricity is a type of hydroelectric generation plant whereby little or no water storage is provided. Run-of-the-river power plants may have no water storage at all or a limited amount of storage, in which case the storage reservoir is referred to as pondage. A plant without pondage is subject to seasonal river flows, thus the plant will operate as an intermittent energy source. Conventional hydro uses reservoirs, which regulate water for flood control, dispatchable electrical power, and the provision of fresh water for agriculture.
