Lac Des Deux Montagnes
Lake of Two Mountains (French: ''Lac des Deux Montagnes'') is part of the river delta widening of the Ottawa River in Quebec, Canada, at its confluence with the St. Lawrence River. Lake of Two Mountains has four outflows: Rivière des Mille Îles and Rivière des Prairies, bordering Île Jésus, and two branches of the Ottawa River, flowing into the St. Lawrence via Lake Saint-Louis, on either side of Île Perrot. The city of Deux-Montagnes is located on the lake's north shore, where it flows into Rivière des Mille Îles. The southwest portion of the city of Montreal borders the eastern part of the lake, as does the now merged village of Senneville. Kanesatake (''Kanehsatà:ke''), a Kanien'kéha:ka Mohawk reserve in Kanesatake, Quebec, is also located along the northern shore. Deux-Montagnes is a suburban municipality in southwestern Quebec, Canada on the north shore of the Rivière des Mille Îles where it flows out of Lake of Two Mountains (''Lac des Deux Montagnes''). It is part of the Deux-Montagnes Regional County Municipality in the greater Montreal region. It is located from Montreal. Description Ten thousand years ago, the Champlain Sea covered a large part of southern Quebec and left behind the clay, sand and peat soil that is now under the city of Deux-Montagnes. When the sea retreated to the Atlantic Ocean, along the channel that is now the St-Lawrence River and its tributaries, the Rivière-des-Milles-Iles and the Lake of Two-Mountains, southern Quebec became a favourable area for hunting and gathering. Deux-Montagnes is a regional county municipality in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada. It is located immediately north of Laval on the north shore of the Rivière des Mille-Îles and on the north shore of the Lake of Two Mountains. Its seat and largest city is Saint-Eustache. Deux-Montagnes Line (AMT)
Deux-Montagnes or Two Mountains Line (also designated exo6 and formerly Red Line) was formerly a commuter railway line in Greater Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was owned by Exo, the organization that operates public transport services across this region. The line was created in 1918 as a Canadian Northern Railway (CNoR) service. Canadian National Railway (CN) ran the line starting in 1923 following the merger of CNoR into CN. CN transferred the Deux-Montagnes Line to the Société de transport de la communauté urbaine de Montréal (STCUM) on July 1, 1982. The line was refurbished from 1992 to 1995. It was transferred to the RTM's predecessor agency, the Agence Métropolitaine de transport (AMT) on January 1, 1996. Deux-Montagnes (AMT)
Deux-Montagnes is a future terminus station of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) in Deux-Montagnes, Quebec, Canada. REM service at the station is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024. The station will serve as the terminus of the Deux-Montagnes branch of the REM. Until the end of 2020, Deux-Montagnes was a commuter rail station operated by Exo and was the northern terminus of the Deux-Montagnes line. Origin of name Deux-Montagnes takes its name from Deux-Montagnes, the municipality where it is located, although this station took the name of the original Gare Deux-Montagnes, now Grand-Moulin station. Blainville—Deux-Montagnes (formerly known as Deux-Montagnes) was a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1979 to 1997. The riding was created as "Deux-Montagnes" in 1976 from parts of Argenteuil—Deux-Montagnes and Terrebonne ridings. It was renamed "Blainville—Deux-Montagnes" in 1977.
