''Destilando Amor'' (English: ''Distilling Love'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by Nicandro Díaz González for Televisa in 2007. It is a remake of the 1994 Colombian telenovela '' Café, con aroma de mujer''. On Monday, January 22, 2007, Canal de las Estrellas started broadcasting ''Destilando Amor'' weekdays at 9:00pm, replacing ''Mundo de fieras''. The last episode was broadcast on Sunday, September 16, 2007 with ''Pasión'' replacing it the following day. Angélica Rivera and Eduardo Yáñez starred as protagonists, while Chantal Andere, Martha Julia and Sergio Sendel starred as antagonists. Alejandro Tommasi, Ana Patricia Rojo and the leading actress Ana Martin starred as stellar performances. It was named "The Best Telenovela of the Year" by Premios TVyNovelas in 2008. Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Las Estrellas ("The Stars"; previously El Canal de las Estrellas, or "The Channel of the Stars") is one of the cornerstone networks of TelevisaUnivision, with affiliate stations all over Mexico, flagshipped at XEW-TDT in Mexico City. The Premios TVyNovelas are presented annually by Televisa and the magazine TVyNovelas to honor the best Mexican television productions, including telenovelas. Instituted in 1983, the award ceremony rotates between Mexico City and Acapulco. The ceremony is broadcast through Canal de las Estrellas in Mexico and Latin America, and Univision in the United States. ''Mundo de fieras'' (English: ''Love and Cruelty'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by Salvador Mejía Alejandre for Televisa that premiered on July 31, 2006, and ended on January 19, 2007. It is a remake of the Venezuelan telenovela '' Mundo de fieras'', produced in 1991. César Évora had a dual role as protagonist/main antagonist, together with Venezuelan actress Gaby Espino, while Edith González, Helena Rojo and Michelle Vieth starred as main antagonists.
