Robert Desrosiers
Robert Guy Desrosiers (born October 10, 1953) is a Canadian dancer and choreographer. After a brief dance career, he founded the Desrosiers Dance Theatre and choreographed surreal and theatrical dances. After the company’s disbandment, he pursued a variety of artistic professions before returning as a freelance choreographer. Early life and dance career Desrosiers was born in Montreal, Quebec. In 1965 he studied at the National Ballet School and briefly danced with the National Ballet of Canada. His tenure with them was short-lived and he left to dance and perform in various dance companies in North America and Europe. When he moved back to Toronto, he performed with various companies such as Ballet Ys, Dancemakers and Toronto Dance Theatre. Jacques Desrosiers (July 8, 1938 – June 11, 1996) was a Québécois Canadian singer and actor. Desrosiers was best known for playing the clown Patof in the Canadian television series ''Patofville''. He was born in Montreal, Quebec. Simple Plan is a Canadian rock band from Montreal, Quebec, formed in 1999. The band's lineup consists of Pierre Bouvier (lead vocals, studio bass guitar), Chuck Comeau (drums), Jeff Stinco (lead guitar), and Sébastien Lefebvre (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), with all four performing with the group since its inception. David Desrosiers (bass guitar, backing vocals) joined the band in early 2000 and departed in July 2020 due to sexual misconduct accusations. Philippe Desrosiers (born August 16, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. He is currently playing with the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League (AHL). Desrosiers was selected by the Dallas Stars in the second round (54th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Desrosiers played with the Rimouski Océanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 2012 to 2015. Dennis Desrosiers (born March 28, 1949) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and coach. He played 13 professional seasons, mostly in the International Hockey League (IHL) where he played 532 games, scoring 312 goals and 277 points for 589 points, and earning 1690 penalty minutes. Following his retirement as a player, Desrosiers spent the next 18 seasons a head coach in the IHL, ECHL, UHL and OHL. He was then Saginaw Spirit's radio colour commentator from 2004-2012. Arthur Desrosiers (March 10, 1884 – July 7, 1951) was a medical doctor and mayor of Eastview, Ontario, later known as Vanier. He also represented Russell in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a Liberal from 1934 to 1937. Background He was born in Clarence Creek, Ontario in 1884, the son of Dr. Alexis Napoléon Desrosiers and Ernestine Dionne who was the daughter of Amable Dionne.
