The Ducati Desmosedici is a four-stroke V4 engine racing motorcycle made by Ducati for MotoGP racing. The series nomenclature is ''GP'' with the two-digit year appended, such as Desmosedici GP10 for 2010. In 2006 Ducati made a short production run of 1,500 street-legal variants, the Desmosedici RR. Background Ducati abandoned the Grand Prix racing scene at the start of the 1970s. Alexander Hofmann (born 25 May 1980) is a retired Grand Prix motorcycle racing, Grand Prix motorcycle racer, who now works on German television coverage of the sport. Mobility Resort Motegi (モビリティリゾートもてぎ) is a motorsport race track located at Motegi, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. Originally named Twin Ring Motegi (ツインリンクもてぎ), the circuit's name came from the facility having two race tracks: a oval and a road course. Vittoriano Guareschi (born 19 June 1971) is an Italian former professional motorcycle racer and racing team manager. He competed in the Supersport World Championship from 1996 to 1998 and in the Superbike World Championship from 1999 to 2000. After his racing career he helped Ducati develop their new MotoGP entry as a test rider before becoming the team manager of the Ducati MotoGP team.
