Derrike Cope
Derrike Wayne Cope (born November 3, 1958) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He is known for his win in the 1990 Daytona 500. He last competed in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 15 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Rick Ware Racing in an alliance with his own StarCom Racing. Cope also served as team manager of StarCom. As of 2022, he is the last driver to compete in at least one NASCAR Cup Series race in five consecutive decades (1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s). Early life and education Cope was born in San Diego, California and was raised in Spanaway, Washington. In high school, he enjoyed auto racing and baseball. He was a catcher on the Bethel High School baseball team, and later played college baseball at Whitman College. Pocono Raceway (formerly Pocono International Raceway), also known as ''The Tricky Triangle'', is a superspeedway located in the Pocono Mountains in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. It is the site of three NASCAR national series races and an ARCA Menards Series event in July: a NASCAR Cup Series race with support events by the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. New Hampshire Motor Speedway is a oval speedway located in Loudon, New Hampshire, which has hosted NASCAR racing annually since 1990, as well as the longest-running motorcycle race in North America, the Loudon Classic. Nicknamed "The Magic Mile", the speedway is often converted into a road course, which includes much of the oval. The track was originally the site of Bryar Motorsports Park before being purchased and redeveloped by Bob Bahre. The TSport 200 is a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in the suburb of Clermont, Indiana, located west of Indianapolis. It was held each year starting in 1995 (the first season of the Truck Series) until 2011 and returned to the Truck Series schedule in 2022. The event has always been held on the same weekend as the NASCAR Cup Series Verizon 200 (previously the Brickyard 400) weekend at the nearby Indianapolis Motor Speedway, similar to the IndyCar Road to Indy Carb Night Classic serving the same purpose for the Indianapolis 500. 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
The 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series was the fourteenth season of the Craftsman Truck Series, the third highest stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR in the United States. It was contested over twenty-five races, beginning with the Chevy Silverado HD 250 at Daytona International Speedway and ending with the Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Johnny Benson of Bill Davis Racing was crowned champion. The season was also the last under the Craftsman sponsorship banner until the 2023 season. The Worldwide Express 250 for Carrier Appreciation is a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Richmond Raceway. The race was initially held from 1995 to 2005 before being removed from the schedule in 2006. The race returned to the Truck Series schedule 14 years later in 2020. In the race's first stint on the Truck Series schedule, it was 200 laps. When it returned in 2020, the distance was 250 laps. In 2020, NASCAR removed the spring Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway in favor of a race at Richmond Raceway in the spring. This schedule change was done in a swap with Martinsville, which previously had two Truck Series races and zero Xfinity Series races and would now have one Truck Series race and one Xfinity Series race. 1995 NASCAR SuperTruck Series
The 1995 NASCAR SuperTruck Series presented by Craftsman was the inaugural season of the NASCAR SuperTruck Series. The season began on February 5, 1995, and ended on October 28. NE Chevy 250
The Ambetter Health 200 is a NASCAR Xfinity Series race held at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire. When first held in 1990, the race was 300 laps. It was scaled back to 250 laps, the length of the former fall NHMS race, starting in 1993, and again to its current 200 laps in 1996. Until 2010, in 23 races held at NHMS, there had never been a repeat Xfinity Series winner, the longest such streak in any of NASCAR's national touring series. Kyle Busch broke the streak with victories in 2009 and 2010. He would also win the 2011, 2013, 2016, and 2017 Xfinity Series races at the track.
