Derek McGrath (hurler)
Derek McGrath (born 30 May 1976) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Waterford senior team. He is a former manager of the Waterford senior team. Born in Waterford, McGrath first played competitive hurling during his schooldays. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Waterford minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He joined the senior panel for the 1996 championship, and was a seldom used player until he left inter-county hurling after the 1998 championship. At club level McGrath is a Munster medallist with De La Salle. He also won one championship medal. In retirement from playing, McGrath became involved in team management and coaching. After guiding De La Salle College to Harty Cup and Croke Cup successes, he managed the De La Salle club to championship success before taking over as Waterford manager. St Saviour's GAA Club is a football and hurling club founded in 1980 in Ballybeg, Waterford, in the Republic of Ireland. Facilities The club's facilities include a clubhouse, dressing rooms, gym, and floodlit training area. Construction is almost complete on a wall behind one of the goals, with ball-stoppers due to be installed behind each goal. Honours The club has won almost every honour in the county. Waterford County Hurling Team
The Waterford county hurling team represents Waterford in hurling and is governed by Waterford GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. Waterford's home grounds are Walsh Park, Waterford, and Fraher Field, Dungarvan. The team's manager is Davy Fitzgerald. Michael Ryan (hurler, Born 1955)
Michael Ryan (born 9 August 1955) is a retired Irish hurler and Gaelic footballer who played in various positions for The Nire–Fourmilewater club teams. In retirement from playing Ryan became involved in team management. As manager and selector of the Waterford, Laois and Dublin inter-county teams he has won seven All-Ireland. With the Ballymacarbry ladies' football team Ryan won multiple All-Ireland club titles while he also gained a wealth of experience training various club teams in hurling. Ryan was the manager of the Waterford senior hurling team for the 2012 and 2013 seasons and took over as Westmeath senior hurling team manager in October 2014. 2010–11 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The 2010–11 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 41st staging of Ireland's premier competition at inter-county level for hurling clubs. A total of fifteen teams competed in the championship, with Clarinbridge defeating O'Loughlin Gaels by 2-18 to 0-12 in the final at Croke Park, Dublin. The championship began on 10 October 2010 and concluded on 17 March 2011. Pre-championship Barring a win for Loughgiel Shamrocks, a new club will be crowned All-Ireland champions on St. Patricks's Day as the remaining participants have never claimed the championship title. The Shamrocks claimed the championship in 1982–83, however, their campaign is expected to end in the All-Ireland semi-final. 2018 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The 2018 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 131st staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. It is the first tier of senior inter-county championship hurling. The championship began on 12 May 2018 and ended on 19 August 2018. The draw for the championship round-robin fixtures was held off camera on 19 October 2017 and announced on the championship draw broadcast on RTÉ2. The Championship was won by Limerick, who were crowned champions after overcoming Galway in the final by a score line of 3–16 to 2-18. The 2015 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 129th staging of the All-Ireland championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887.
